It is a nice trip in the forest and the most likely animals to spot are peacocks, deer, monkeys and wild boars. I would not count on seeing any tigers and the only elephant we spotted was chained to a tree... Still the views are beautiful and the area as a whole is very pretty so it is worth the... More

You don't find any wild animals, not even elephants. The vehicle travels mostly on the Mysore national highway before entering the forest and engine makes lot of noise that no animal will even dare to come near for you to have a sight. Being govt departmet, they are charging for toilets also. Avalanche is better even though you don't find... More

Mudumalai National Park is situated at the junction of the thick forests of Tamilnadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. It is one of the earliest sanctuary in South India. The Mysore - Ooty highway runs through the park. We could see different species of birds. The park boundaries, are the best places for wildlife viewing in Reserve, the reserve’s are home to... More

this clean, trash-free green space is a very welcome respite from the busy, dirty, chaos of the rest of india, though we definitely didn't see any tigers or wild elephants. we still enjoyed the bus ride through the forest. of course there were lots of monkeys, deer and we even saw a few wild peacocks. be sure to visit the... The last safari that I traveled was in Thailand. So i think I was under a false impression that it would resemble something of that sort. Rest be assured, it was nothing of that sort. It is totally based on your luck if you get to see any animal at all. People naturally hope to see the tigers in a... More

From 27 to 31 July 2014, I was in Ooty with my family and made it a point to visit Mudumalai yet again, this time with no pre-arrangements at all. The only attraction that day available was the bus ride ( safari) into the forests and we took it. Apart from the Indian Gaur ( bisons), spotted deers, peococks/peahens, monkeys... More

This is a forest reserve spanning 3 states. The forest is said to have tigers, elephants, deer, peacock etc. We saw bison, deer, sambar, elephants, and lots and lots of peacocks. It is a very beautiful place. you can book tickets for a safari in the government tata mazda buses. There is a huge queue for the tickets. Also the... More
