For people who are used to day-to-day chaotic lifestyle of cities, a visit to Berijam Lake will be like a Nature's Paradise...a must visit attraction in Kodaikanal. It is located apporx 25 Km from the main town and there is a mandatory Forest dept. clearance required to visit this place. Normally, the hotel staff, cab driver or the travel agent... More

Location Kind of outside the town. The route to this place is awesome. Narrow hilly windy roads. The place is kind of remote and is actually lake inside a reserve forest(?!). Fees I guess you will need to get a permit before visiting this place. Hotel or resort people can help you with this. Carry food (not in plastics) when... More

This lake is deep inside a forest of Kodaikanal and requires forest office permit for access. The permit is not expensive (~$3), but only 50 vehicles are allowed per day into this forest/lake area and is based on first come, first served basis. One needs to line-up outside the forest office by around 7:30 AM (in Kodaikanal town) and the... More

The way to this lake is from the thick forest area protected by Forest Department. The driving on the Zig-Zag path right in the dense forests with mist around is a heavenly pleasure. On the way just stopped at some points and the views in to the Valleys below were awesome. Once at the lake which is naturally formed it... More

Very good place for a short and sweet silent trip from kodaikanal town. We like the place very much. If you can use your own vehicle then you can spend more time.

First of all you need to get forest authorities permission to take your vehicle there for which you need to visit the office at 9am, a half an hour work will do. (Two wheelers not allowed). The way to Berijam lake is a dense forest and gives you a great feel. Must visit place it Kodai.

There is a place in th elake only for tourists which is a bit crowded and is not that great, but if you walk inside and explore the place further you will find the place is very serene and will really enjoy the nature.

Tourists cant even touch the waters of this lake. There is fencing all along the periphery of this lake. Having seen Kodai lake, this is just a repetition. Go there in your own vehicle if you must. Stay away from tour operators. They park their vehicle on the banks of the lake, turn it around and ask you to get... More

Very nice atmosphere. Full of trees and lake in the middle. Very clam. There's nothing to dislike. It is actually the last site seeing location in the forest view
