Got the permits organized, you need forest permission to drive your vehicle there. Otherwise, near the turn off point, there's a bus which drops and brings back people, they wait for it to fill up, so expect wait. Due to the permit issue, not spoiled by tourists, route is preistene, foresty and exciting. The lake itself is not great, though... More

No need to rush here as it needed special permission. We didn't get any special views or nice attraction from here.We have to stay a long Ques in front of the forest office which is very busy on holidays. There are so many other places there to visit almost similar to this.So if you found it is hard to get permission better... Avoid on weekends or long holidays. Restriction on the number of vehicles allowed on a day is a big scam and local palm greasing easily allows by passing the law. Drive through the forest is still enjoyable. We didnot even get down at the lake it was so crowded.

A very serene spot with heavy forestation around. Good for bird-watching. Walking around the lake is also good experience. Joy for photographers.

The trip is organised by the Forest Departments Eco Tourism. The complete trip takes around 1.5 Hours . Most of the times the visibility is poor on way due to mist.

This lake comes as the last spot on the Wild Forest Trip. It is a nice place with very good surroundings. Covered by hills on all side & lot of trees, it is a good place to visit with lasting memories.

I just happened to pass by the entrance gate and thought of seeing the lake (while returning from Pillar Rocks). I walked up to the forest checkpost official who said I did not have a permit issued from the Forest Dept office at Kodai. He said he can arrange one though for a cost. He did so and did give... Rustic, very temperamental weather and right in the middle of the forest. A treat for eco travellers. Kids looking for parks may not like it. Lovely to see a all natural lake at such high altitude. Sighting water birds in the season is a treat.
