Prior permission from the forest office is need to visit the lake. It is an awesome experience for people looking to trek a little in the forest without bumping into other folks. If you are a bird lover, then you might chance upon serpent eagle, long tailed shrike.

Not many of the people know about this quiet lake located some distance away from kodai. A permission from the forest department is required but not to worry its easy and simple. The trip through forest is mesmerizing. Not to worry the road is good and I went in a Maruthi 800. Its not dangerous. Take enough food and water... More

Berijam lake is approx 20 km from main town. You can book your only vehicle or can opt for 20 seater mini bus (250 bucks per head). If you are ok with a group of people , go for the 20 seater bus. Many families also go by that. Good thing about this trip is not the lake but the... More

a beautiful place amidst the hills. One needs to procure permits to visit here. Drive early and spend time lazing around the lake till noon, and then head back for a good lunch in Kodai.

Kodaikanal is a place of many surprises. This lake is amidst thick forest in the hills. Serene water - nature at best. Only drawback might be the crowd.

What a scenic place it was!!! En-route, you have to stop forcefully to take snaps near Echo valley, Cap valley and view of the Berijam lake. It was misty and we could not see much in the Echo valley. There is a place for photo (Selfies), it is called MathiKettan Solai . The view is beautiful with multi-coloured trees. Berijjam... More

Drive to this lake was truly worth it. The lake was huge, we were hoping to spot some wildlife, but to no luck. Very scenic, and the weather was fantastic to add to pleasure.
