The travel to the lake is through the forest and is nice. Have to get Forest Dept approval for the travel at 7 a.m. Heard that only 50 passes allowed per day. Can enter the forest by 9 a.m and should leave before 3 p.m. If could not avail forest passes, there is a forest tour van available from Moier... More

We went to Berijam Lake on 23/03/2015. Talking about the process to enter the Lake Area : 1) You need to visit the District Forest Office - Kodaikanal on or before 10AM and get permit from the DFO to drive through the reserved forest to reach Berijam One person can go an get it. No need for the whole group.... More

Went by bus because our cab driver did not take permission before. It was very pleasant and excellent trip. Though Berijam lake is just average the trip to it is awesome and feels like you are in kashmir

20+ kms of road inside the superb forest to reach the Lake. Lake is an average one, while each feet to the lake is simply awesome. Deep and steap valleys are also inside. Only limited number is permitted inside the forest, a day.

Berijam Lake, which acts as the source of drinking water for the nearby Periyakulam town, is one of the most beautiful sites in and around Kodaikanal. It is located at an altitude of 2094 m. The sight of this attractive lake which is surrounded by the trees and with the backdrop of hills is breathtaking. Not only the Berijam Lake,... More

It's a quiet and nice walk along the Berijam lake. Located in pristine location, the lake is serene and placid. There isnt any flow and waters look mucky, but the place is excellent for photography.

Berijam Lake is indeed a not so crowded attraction in Kodaikanal. And doesn't seem like it is going to be crowded any time soon because the Forest dept has set a rule that only 30 vehicles will be allowed to visit Berijam on any given day. And unless you are so bad on luck that all the 29 vehicles (or... More
