Rustic, very temperamental weather and right in the middle of the forest. A treat for eco travellers. Kids looking for parks may not like it. Lovely to see a all natural lake at such high altitude. Sighting water birds in the season is a treat.

Must see place to get a feel of the serene Kodaikanal. Surrounded by Greens and Quiet atmosphere. Add it to your visiting ride. Mostly should visit either in the early morning or after 4pm.

This is one of the best part of Kodaikanal !! No hawkers and no noise pollution. The drive to the lake is also awesome.

A permit needs to be taken from the forest department to visit this lake. We reached their office at 8 am and it was full. The office opens at 830am. Luckily for us the forest guard made a separate ladies line. The local taxi guys didn't maintain order. We got the permit by 9:30. Cost was Rs.150 for a private... More

Apart from all the permissions etc. its a beautiful drive with no nonsense ideal for people who want relaxation out of their daily concrete Jungle. Pack your lunch or brunch stay till evening, along the drive you... More

The lake is in the forest and nothing is there just to watch and click a couple of photos..It is advisable not to take a one day tour to this lake, you can combine with other sight seeing.

Nature preserved at its best, Lake in the wilderness of the Kodai is by far the best point of Kodai… Hands-down! Pros: - Forest, Uninhabited, Serene, No Vendors, Forest Road. Cons: - Restricted entry & timings, Bureaucratic Red Tape, Permit Required. If you’re a tourist seeking a fun-fair like atmosphere with vendors calling you for candy, corn, ice cream, coffee,... The most refreshing place in kodai. The lillies there are the highlight of the lake.....:)you all should visit it. The large and long trees there made me surpised. In its side you can find a broken tree, a nice place for photoes..........
