Without a doubt, the Keoladeo National Park is perfect for bird watching and January turned out to be a great month to do so. My recommendation would be to take along a Nature Guide one that has a telescope with him. You will then enjoy a whole new experience with bird facts and bird sightings that otherwise you will just... More

Great place to cycle around with a guide. Lots of migratory birds. Binoculars are a must. Will take about 4 hours to see the place. Ashoka hotel in the grounds, good place to eat.

Watching an antelope walk by you when you are in a boat, is sure a rare sight. And so is, watching large turtles basking in sun :)

As I had indicated in these columns sometime last year, THIS YEAR is indeed a bird bonanza at Keoladeo Ghana National Park. No doubt about it. After seeing Bharatpur in such 'avian magnificence' after about 15-20 years - sans any Siberian Cranes though. Hotels were almost full during the period 20th December, 2013 till about 27th January, 2013. The +125... More

Excellent Trip. Saw close to 3 dozen species of birds. also spotted the extremely rare Saras Crane. saw Neelgai, Sambhar, antelope, spotted deer, jackal as well. tip: do not park your car at the main gate. just buy entry tickets for visitors and a INR 100 parking ticket for your car. then drive in right up to the inner gate.... A definite stop if you like- birds, greenery, serenity, and nature in her glory. The bharatpur national park brings a sense of relief - India is finally doing something right: no cars allowed beyond a point, cycle rickshaws, well paved pathways and truly knowledgeable guides (I recommend Gajendra - absolutely brilliant at spotting) Different timings will allow you sightings of... The bird park in itself, was a nice respite from all the noise and chaos of Delhi and Agra. However, after our driver settled on a price for the guide as well as the cycle rickshaws, we were bullied into giving almost double the agreed price when we were finished. This left a very bad impression on us. I won't... More

This is an excellent spot for seeing umpteen number of birds. It has been well maintained. Local guides, rickshawalas have been trained in bird identification and do a great job of showing you the place. No polluting vehicles inside the park. In addtion to a wide variety of birds we saw mongoose, python, neelgai, spotted deer, wild boar, wild cat,... More
