Wonderful

My only regret is we did not have long enough to explore this wonderful bird sanctuary. Make sure you have at least half a day if not longer.

We hadn't planned to visit and did so as we were only 500m away. We had no idea what to expect, least of all a super well informed, passionate naturalist to show us around. We loved that it's a car free zone and you travel in cycle rickshaws or on bicycles. It's very accessible which is amazing for a place... More

A must visit place for birders of all age. Was there during August 2012 for two days and as if that was not sufficient for my tense nerves, visited again during October, 2012. Amazing place. A pure jungle - had never visited - so a bit excited during my first visit. Captured some pics of birds during my both visits.... More

Even though this place is a great surprise in store for the tourists, it is at times disturbing to see that the foreigners are charged different rates for entry to this park from that of Indians. This is something that the government needs to seriously look into if we are looking at promoting tourism in India. The peacefulness, cool, calm... More

Bharatpur is truly a Birder's Paradise. One can see the beauty of Eqypt, Tibet, Siberia, China and India at one place . Although I was new to Bird watching still I enjoyed a lot. Day1 We reached Bharatpur around 3 p.m and did on the spot booking of Hotel Saras( RTDC hotel). After taking rest from journey reached Keoladev National... More

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (Keoladeo Ghana National Park) is very near to Bharatpur town, about 180 Kms from Jaipur Airport, Rajasthan, India. It has a big water reservoir formed by water from river Gambhir and river Banganga. In earlier days it was used for duck shooting by the Maharaja of Bharatpur. In 1964, hunting was banned and this park became a... More
