Probably Amritsar can be visited for Golden temple ( Harminder Sahib) only. Accomodation can be managed at SARAI ( Golden temple managed guest houses) on first come first serve. Ac/Non Ac rooms are available at Rs 500 & Rs 200 . Try LUNGER food also.

Fantastic! Words don't really do it justice. We went at 5am, there was a clear sky with a full moon. Just the most serene beautiful place. I had studied the recent history of the place but I would have liked to have found someone who could tell it to my family.

Blissfully calm amid chaotic amritsar lanes... As near as you can be to the God himself... And the 'langar' can not be missed...

Forget the Taj Mahal this is the place to see in India. A remarkable architectural phenomena complemented by a religious devotion like none other.

Beautiful temple. Excellent management - although people push you out of sanctum sanctorum or ask you to move on even if there is no crowd - you take it in stride. Awesome place, vibrations. No one asks for money/donations which is awesome. Visit it in morning when palkhi is brought in ( approx 4 am) and when its taken out... More

Waiting in the queue with the early morning sun polishing the gold walls of the Harmandir Saheb, with the live kirtans in the background, it was a great experience. Such serenity among the milling crowds! unparalleled.

The Golden Temple from Amritsar is really something beautiful and certainly a cultural and religious treasure. I visited it in the evening. So I was able to see it nicely illuminated. My friend and I did a walk around the temple and let feel the atmosphere. It was calm and very relaxing. Only the water from that pond was dirty... More
