Kathakali and Martial arts, both the shows were good and give you the essence of Kerela. Nice Place and must visit for 1st time Visitors/Tourist.

what a performance of Kerala traditional Martial art. I have been there and watched the performance and artist were some 8-10 year old kid and one female but all were just good enough. You can enjoy and performance was just nail biting and the reason was dangerous stunt without any life support.

Low on frills, high on content-that's how I'd describe Punarjanmi! If you're looking for some 5 star theatre and fancyness, then don't bother going here.Punarjanmi is a very simple place, and for me,in that lay it's beauty!I saw a Kathakali performance here and a Kalaripayattu one.I'll describe my experience of both, starting with Kathakali. It takes place in a smallish room, where the... More

We went to the Kalaripayattu show, the place is a shed with bad seating (wooden palnk) and it was cold and damp. I caught cold in the first few minutes. The place was filled with insects. Half the time I was watching an insect which was crawling infront of me which looked like half scorpion and half cockroach to escape... More

This place offers live Kathakali and Kalaripayattu performances and I was extremely happy with the quality of both performances. Kathakali hinges on the facial expressions of the performers and all the performers managed to capture the details perfectly and conveyed the story to a rapt and engaged audience very well. I was quite taken in by the Kalaripayattu performance as... More

I visited Punarjani traditional village in july 2014. It is excellent and very enlightening. One should see both kathakali and the martial art show. If affordable try to take the very first row seats. One must also see the make up session. Star attraction in Munnar........

The Katakali Show was excellent. The explation of the art prior to the show gave you some basic understanding of what to expect and undertsand the play.

the rates I felt were little high, but the experience of Kathakali dance was very good. They also give an opportunity for you to pose with the dancers post the session. Though be aware - the seating place is very small and you only get benches and plastic chairs. Nothing premium about it. If you are looking at 'folk dance'... More

Be sure to watch both Katakhali and Kalaripayatu shows - more than worth your time and you'll definitely be sorry to leave Kerala without seeing them. Traditional Keralan simplistic drama and an ancient martial art.
