Just came back after watching kathakali and kalarippayattu show. It was awesome! Beautiful expression in kathakali show and best martial art performance I have ever watched. Definitely will recommend and must go show.

A traditional Kathakali performance from the local village troupe. Great make up and art work for the performers. The performance itself was average, with the instruments being too loud and the narration not very crisp accurate. Following this was performance of Kalaripayatu, the traditional martial arts form of Kerala. This was a bit more enjoyable and the stunts especially the... More

The show Kalarippayattu was awesome. Artysta were fantastic. Old traditional Matrial Art was the Best performance I saw in India. This is the place you should be when you came to Munnar. The artist performance was very professional and all show was breathtaking. Highty recomended.

The martial arts show happens in the township of Pallivasal, a few kms before the Munnar Town. The show happens every day between 6-7 PM, so is a good way to spend your evenings once it gets dark as there is not much to do in Munnar anyway. However, due to the popularity of the place, the seats get sold... More

The first thing we did after reaching munnar was this. Though we missed the kathakali dance but we could catch the kalarippayattu show which starts from 6:10pm. If you want to go for kathakali as well then go there well before 5pm as the seats are limited.

At Punarjani Munnar (pallivasal) one can enjoy both Kathakally (At 5 PM Daily) and Kalari ( Martial Art by professionals at 6 PM Daily). Kathakally starts with Showing Human Emotions which is the best part of this Show. Though they don't have very good sound system so you can really understand what Emcee is saying but still performers do they... More

The artists are very talented in their performance for both the dance and the martial art. However the theatre could be more professional by adding better seats rather that mere plastic chairs m, have proper curtains for the stage rather than two people holding the fancy sheet. Music could be of less volume. Could not understand what the MC was... More
