Kathakali is the art of dancing by the means of expressions. This place, though not upto professional level, still enjoyable, provides the satisfactory experience of the art. Show starts with basics of Kathakali, followed by a story told by the means of divine art. This show is followed by Kerla martial arts, though not upto the mark, but at the... More

I am writing this review for the Punarjani Kerala massage center in Chinnakanal. To be precise, Punarjani has the traditional village (Kathakali, Kalaripaitu, massage) in Munnar and an Ayurvedic massage center in Chinnakanal. The woman at the counter was supercilious and condescending...extremely rude. There was a difference between what we were told at the traditional village in Munnar and what... More

The kathakali & Marshal art show we have seen. That day was raining and due to this noise was disrupting the sound. Their sound system requires improvement as echo was coming. Also chairs must be made more comfortable and approach to audiotorium be made rain proof

Such a village is also there in Thekaddy and Alleppy. It is better to cover this place is Munnar as Periyar will take most of the time in Thekaddy and houseboat at Alleppy. Martial arts show was great and worth the money. I am not very interested in dance forms and so didn't find Kathakali interesting. Pronunciation could have been... More

Thanks to previous reviews we opted to watch the martial arts show only and we were not disappointed. The traditional art was very elegantly and beautiful displayed by the young, talented boys. The only thing which spoiled the experience was the commentary which was very difficult to understand and frankly very annoying. I suggest them to find a suitable person... More

I am from Houston, TX (USA) and traveled to Munnar, Kerala on Nov 1st and 2nd 2014. It was best vacation with scenery. We visited Punarjani Kathakali and Kalaripayattu. It is an awesome experience. It is a must see. 1 hour each for each show. Usually, it starts in the evening. The cost is very low. It is about 200... More

The performers at the punarjani village are supremely talented, both the kathakali performance and the kalaripayyatu performance are extremely entertaining and well executed. Where the punarjani village lacks is in the comfort provided to the viewers, both arenas are beset with poor seating and inadequate legroom that are the reason for some substantial discomfort.
