It's not all that great. No point wasting your time here when you can do nothing and relax in Munnar. Few hawkers selling corn chocolates etc. the chocolates are very good. Don't miss those. Instead find out about the jeep safari to the peak of Munnar. They take you in a 4x4 and the view seems to be pretty good... More

This is a small Dam and not a must visit if you are visiting Munnar. However, there is boating and echo point near by. You can choose speed boating as well as pedal baoting. We choose pedal boating, as it was sunny afternoon it was tiring more than anything else. Echo ppoint will have too many tourists shouting and whistling... More

No great shakes, had to wait for more than an hour to get our chance for boat ride. Just the normal thing, better to avoid if you are on a short stay

Actually Munnar has no such attraction to visit. It just has its awesome natural beauty. Beautiful tea gardens everywhere and perfect cloudy weather. So just to earn money, there have spotted some places to call them as Tourist attraction. This dam is one of them. Steamer ride is there but it's costly INR 500 per person.

Just another dam. Did not look like it is used to generate electricity thus it is nothing more than a water catchment area. Just next to this place at the entrance, you will find stalls selling bits and bobs and not much else.

Mattupetty dam has a history which made me furious to visit this place (Read Wiki). But after going there I was little dissapointed to see none of history piece preserved. However the place was nice like anyother place in Kerala, also the places nearby to it were worth visiting, some very good view points. Tip - Go here to make... More

It was good to visit Mattupetty Dam, i would categorise it as a must watch place in Munnar. You can also enjoy a speed boat ride here, which would be a different experience for a first timer. Please take a note that they dont allow kids in speed boat, so some one need to take care of kids.

You are lucky if you could be there with less crowd. This is a popular attraction in Munnar and be ready to take lot of pictures. You can do boating and horse riding. There is a long line of food stalls. However, I would trust only the canned or packet ones. No clean washrooms available.

Scene is amazing, however fun lies in boating. This place close at 5 pm sharp so be on time. However during your ride from Kochi to Munnar you might have crossed many waterbodies and hence you dont miss big if you miss this dam
