Bit long journey … First you need to go to Suryanelli town (25 kms from Munnar) and then you need to to hire a jeep for going uphill (12 kms of very very very bumpy ride, costed Rs 1600 in mid Nov-14 for round trip). It was worth taking the pain as there are scenic tea gardens all the way... More

This is the best place of all of munnar. The view you get is too good and can go on a trek too. Reaching here is tough and the road is also very rough but its worth it for sure. Once you reach the top, one side you get a full view of munnar and tea estates and on other... More

Let me state at the outset, the journey to this estate is a really long and bumpy ride. But in the end the only things you will remember are the breathtaking sights and the awesome tea. The tea that you can buy here, will really be very difficult to find any where in Kerala. So if you are a tea... More

It worth watching this place.... It was a two hour drive(1 side) from the hotel. Jeeps or mahindra max are the only vehicles which can be hired for this place. Its a private tea estate and the highest point is 7130 feet... The drive is really bad as its a 13 kms un-build road with all bumps and jumps but,... More

We were staying at a hotel just out of Munnar town and the manager organised a jeep for us. The drive is bumpy but it is certainly worth the trip. The scenery is some of the best I have seen. When we arrived at the tea house we enjoyed a cup of tea and a walk through the factory. It... More

Kolukkumalai is simply awesome with a superb view of the tea estates and grass hills and a perfect place for chill out & trekking. There you can visit the Tea Factory which is the highest and one of the oldest tea factories in the world. Kolukkumalai got a lovely view of sunrise and you can spot some wild animals if... More

Kolukkumalai Tea Estate is a 40 minute drive from Club Mahindra where I stayed. Leave early in the morning to witness the glorious and remarkable sunrise over Nilgiris. The sky turns from Violet to Orange to Light Pink. So many shades you will have trouble naming them! Reach early and enjoy a breathtaking view. One tip: There is a small... More
