One can reach the peak hiring a jeep because the 15-20 km way is not made for the cars. at peak one can see Tamilnadu state at one side and Kerala on other. Beauty of the place is out of world. Sunrise is worth watching.

It's located near by Chinnakanal suriyanelli estate. Come to Chinnakanal and take a Jeep for rent that cost around 1000 to 1500. You cannot travel through normal car. It's completely off road trip around 1hr. So 4wd is preferable. In kolukkumalai you have found World highest organic tea factory owned by famous Ayyan Crackers. Daily they are only making 500... It was a hard way reaching the World's highest grown organic tea gardens and their factory. The road was rough. Jeep ride was tough. Half in Kerala, half in Tamil Nadu. Amazing twisting roads and vast tea gardens. Saw the tea factory and relished a good cup of tea !!

Tea estate in itself is nice, but what was more significant during our visit was he way to reach this tea estate. It was around 8000 feet above sea level, and it was like getting more and more close to clouds and misty mountnains. To sum it was a lifetime experience which can never be forgotten. Would surely love to visit again.... More
