Ride to the tea estate was a complete body message for us. Only Jeep can go to that place. Road was horrible and while returing, it was raining as well. My wife was very scared, and to be honset, so was I :-). Once we reach there at Tes Estate, it's felt good .. you are at the world highest... More

The 5k jeep ride to the highest tea plantation is truly memorable. The view from the Kerala/Tamil Nadu border stunning. We walked cack down through the tea plantations. A highlight of our time in Kerala More

We were 3 couples, staying at Sienna Village Resort, 18 Kms from Munnar.. We were told to MUST SEE this Organic Tea Factory, 75 years old.. Nest Morning, a jeep was ready to take us up at 8000 ft at this factory.. The road is in a worst condition.. In fact, I would say, there is no road at all..... More

The highest tea estate and tea factory in the world! Sounded exciting. Great ride up on a four wheeler. You need to sit tight for at least 2-3 hours depending on the vehicle. May feel like sitting inside a cement mixer. My advice, get out and walk alongside Jeep. That may be faster and easier on your spine. Your excitement... More

It almost ruined our holiday. The jeep was more a beach buggy, definately NOT a 4x4 and unsuitable for the exceedingly rough terrain - more like a dry river valley with boulders and pot holes than a track - no seat belts for passengers. The guide was knowledgeable and it was going to be a highlight, but a 5 hour... More

We liked being there, but the arduous ride with jeep up the mountain from Munnar was too much, too heavy. We drove for more than 2 hours, the last hour steep uphill in the jeep. On a extremely rocky road. Driving not more than 5 km/hour. It was our least eco friendly ride ever. Being in the top station itself... More

A trip to the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate is highly recommended! Our trip started out about 15 min from the entrance. We hired a jeep for 1200 rupees. At the entrance, you pay another 50 rupees. We than ascended up the mountain with spectacular views. The ride is VERY bumpy but not at all unpleasant. It's a fun adventure and the... More

Really cool to see old-school tea-making. It's a rough road up to estate but you are rewarded with stunning vistas along the way. Well-worth a trip. Make sure you have a good jeep driver! More
