You will not forget the travel to Kolukkumalai. Rough road. Needs a 4 weel drive jeep to reach. Once you reach there, you will get a satisfaction that you are at the highest orthodox tea plantation. Good place to watch sun rise. Nothing much ...otherwise

Kolukkumalai is a tea plantation in Munnar at a high altitude. Scenic views as you snake your way up the plantation. Road condition is the only problem. You can only go in a Mahindra jeep in cobble stone pathways and the ride is very bumpy. View from the top is very good and you see the second highest peak in... More

Kolukkumalai is a very nice place surrounded by beautiful hills of Munnar. The jeep drive starts from the Suryanelly and it will take almost an hour to reach the tea estate. You will really enjoy the each and every minute of the drive where your eyes will be relaxed with green lush tea mountains.

The tea plantations is something that you must not miss or rather something you wouldn't miss once in Munnar. The drive through the misty lush green hills is truly a spectacle of nature at its best.

Pros Very beautiful scenery Option of trekking in the area Option of staying over at night, Boss Inn Lodge, but very basic facilities, very lonely, not sure if safe for a lone couple, better for stags or larger groups. Cons The last few kilometres needs to be travelled by a Mahindra jeep as there is no road, it is a... More

Rent a 4x4 jeep and get your body ready for a full painful bumpy ride. The roads are so narrow and scary, you just have to trust your driver. After staying for awhile at the Top Station we headed to Kolukkumalai Tea Factory. We haven't got the chance to visit the factory since it was still close that time but... More

Perfect weather, green lush hills, highest organic tea garden, silence, not too touristy, breathtaking views, adventurous jeep ride.. so many reasons to visit this amazing property. This place had the best views in Kerala. The jeep ride does get quite bumpy but its worth the drive. We stopped quite a few times along the way to cherish the views. The... More

Got to know the tea making process and also the lovely weather. It is the only tea factory located at the peak. Off-roading experience was also highlight of the trip. Also enjoyed cutting tea leaves on the way back.
