A working tea plantation, at the end of an awful road, there is about 10k of road which takes over an hour to get through in 4 wheel drive. The road is very bumpy and the whole thing is slow going. You can get out in walk - the views are good but not the best in Munnar. The tea... More

This place is around 23 KM from Club Mahindra hotel. We started Jeep Safari at 5 am. Its a bumpy ride person with Back pain must avoid this. But after seeing the view from the Top all pain will go away. We paid 1200 Rs. For jeep. Our Driver Anthony ( M. 9645509820, 8281994011) was very nice. He drive the... More

I took a day trip from Munnar to Kolukkumalai and it was one of the highlights of my trip to India. We had to hire a 4 wheel Jeep for the day, and I immediately understood why as soon as we made the ascent through the hills on what was probably the worst "road" I've ever seen. But so so... More

We had to wake up at 4.30 am and start our journey to the painfully bumpy ride towards Kolukkumalai Tea Estate. A unique experience in itself, when we reached the top and saw the Sunrise, everything WAS SEEMED JUST SO WORTH IT!

Built in 1935 and seemingly unchanged, this factory visit is well worth the bumpy ride up the 17km track.

Excelent views with highest point out there. The only draw back is its a private property and there is no road, seriously the factory was built on 1913 and the road as well !!! Inly jeep travels at 5kmph with bumpy ride. The govt should assist to build a road to it so that it gets a bwtter tourist attraction.
