Avoid typical package given by the tourism agencies. do some research and choose your location. I visited tea estates by TATA

Lush Green Tea Gardens are high lights of Munnar. As you drive around in the outskirts of Munnar, you will see Tea Gardens all over the mountains and its a very pleasant view. Neatly trimmed Tea plants look magnificent.

Its very amazing to notice the beauty of the tea gardens - very systematical organised. Check out the tea gardens before 4 PM to view how the leaves are plucked

Located almost everywhere, a visual treat for anyone visitng Munnar. Hills cloaked in greenery, and they provide for a good photo backdrop anytime and anywhere. U can also enter some of the tea gardens and try your hand at picking the leaves

Traveled with my parents in the year 2010. Munnar is considered to be a lovely hill station with tea plantations all through. Excellent view while you drive down the hills.
