Visited on 05/03/2011 The Rann of Kutch, also known as the Great Rann of Kutch (there's a Little Rann of Kutch as well), is a remarkable place to visit in Gujarat. After passing through Bhuj and Ludia village the Grassland appear and reaches upto horizons. The road was excellent, however at few places car stopped to give passage to Buffeleo's... More

There are 2 places to enjoy this: Dhordo area... close from Bhuj, and Dholavira... the archaeological site of remaining of Indus valley civilization... Try to choose a full moon evening. Photographers delight. In lots of pictures and movies you will find this place. White earth (salt on top of mud)... it will be white all around... Moon light will be... More

Beautiful area, definitely a visit for tourists and residents, visit it on a dry day, or it can be quite mucky!

The Great Rann is a must see experience for the visitor to Kutch! There are several good places to see, but my favorite spot is on the bridge to Kadir island where the ancient ruins of Dholavira are located. The best times to visit are October to March, otherwise it is too hot or the monsoon rains ruin the view.

The destination where you are one with your thoughts with no one else as far as the eye can see. You can stay at one of the villages or bordering accommodations around the White Rann. You can walk for miles on the salt plains or just drive along if you have a four wheel drive. Consider going here early to... More

A unique experience in terms of sight, terrain and geography. Best time to visit is winters. Water receeds and better weather. Idealy club the trip with the famous Rann festival. Dhordo has good resorts with traditional style hut type comfortable accomodation. Tribal music and food is provided by these resorts. Prior permit must be taken at Bhuj to visit this... More

The breathtaking landscape of crystalline salt that glitters like celestial dust in the moonlight. This phenomenal nature wonder is the most appealing part of the Kutch Festival. We visited the Rann for the sunrise, and I would recommend it to anybody to go that time as you have the vast runn of Kutch to yourself. Early morning there are only... More

There are two ways you can enjoy Rann a) Like a normal tourist, you can obtain the permit from Bhirandiyara check-post, approx. 30 KMs before Rann as the checkpost is open everyday 10 am - 5 pm on the way to Rann. This will allow you to visit the salt desert which most people do but you cannot drive in... More
