This is a great weekend getaway if you are somewhere in kutch region . visit this place during kutch utsav only . temperature is appropriate . in order to witness the real beauty of white desert visit in early morning hours on a full moon day and i assure you wont be able to identify horizon you have various options... A must visit should you be around the area. A visit on a full moon night is magical. You are allowed to camp and bring your own vehicles as well. Sunset and sunrise are the everyday attraction here. Beware though: Day time gets quite hot and you might want to have adequate supplies of water. Similarly its cold at night.... More

Its not easy to get to, and there is limited accommodation. Dhordo is only 200 Km from Bhuj and with the excellent roads in Gujarat, from where it can be done as a day trip (Bhuj has more stay options). It looks like you have stepped on a different world when you enter this unique place . The salt bed of squares of kilometres looked like a white land till infinity . Its a true picturesque destination for any nature photographer.

The white salt desert was a visual treat. We planned to be there for the sunset and were not disappointed. You need to take a permit from Bhirandiya check post for the desert visit. India bridge is also close by and there is a special permit issued in bhuj if you want to go beyond the BSF post. We were... More

worth a visit... is a beautiful place... camel carts, camel rides... and endless salt desert! some local guys also were playing the drums and some music..we reached before sunset and were there till the sunset...

White desert- One can get the nice view of The Rann of Kutch from the point called "Ekal". The 'white desert' in the Kutch are of western Gujarat, is actually a salt desert, the salt giving the white color to the ground surface. very good view of white desert,,,,visit ther at january 2015, there is festival like rann ustav,,, enjoyed too much...click too much photos....feel like we are at another planet...food also availbale and shopping of kutch handicraft also available....white desert is a desert of salt,,but u dont get to show sea at around there and still there is huge desert of salt...
