It is a beautiful experience to see vast spread white desert , which is not sand but salt . Go between december to march during full moon days, before that salt is wet .I feel jan and feb is the best time as salt is perfectly dried and will shine like diamonds in moonlight.

You still need a car to go to the white desert as its not walkable. Gateway provides car Rs500 with driver for 4-5 hrs(enough).Or many of them come in buses and... More

Nature lovers, photography lovers must visit. White rann is seasonal salt marsh in approx 2900 sq mi. Amazing concept and initiative by Gujarat govt and well marketed / advertised using Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachan, Have turned this property to gold out of stone!

Saw the White desert by day, at sunset and under the full moon. It is an amazing sight and should be done at least once in a lifetime. Going by camel cart adds to the experience. Do try

Its unique and must visit place if you're traveling to kutch in winters. Ideally evenings are best time to visit, preferably around full moon time. One can stay at bhuj and make round trip. Roads are good and ease to drive.

It was good to be there on full moon night and the whole area looks like sparkling diamond lying on the floor but you have tread very carefully or your leg will go through.

I have been there with my family in the first three days of the launch of the Rann Festival, a few years ago. The arrangements were well done. We were there with Narendra Modi in the tent city, attended the inauguration ceremony in Bhuj, followed by 100 km drive into the desert to see the India Pakistan border, and a... More
