It's a desert, so it's not like there is much to do there. And white or yellow, it is still a desert. Nonetheless, I like stark deserts and this was no different. Endless empty space makes you feel like you are the only person on the planet. I went off-roading and thoroughly enjoyed myself...despite a flat tyre!

I didn't know what to expect of this salt desert and while it was good to see I'm still not sure what to make of the experience. I think it was the antics of the Indian families that I found most enjoyable. The promised sunset was a little underwhelming and waiting around for an hour waiting for the sun to... More

The Rann of Kutch, also known as the Great Rann of Kutch (there's a Little Rann of Kutch as well), is a remarkable place to visit in Gujarat. Much of it consists of the world's largest salt desert, measuring around 10,000 square kilometers. What makes it even more amazing is that the salt desert is underwater during the main monsoon... Kachchh Ranotsav is one of the nice attraction to visit during December to February in Gujarat. It gives beautiful view of white desert at full moon night.

This is an awesome location and great for off-roading your 4x4. Make sure you have your GPS (you will see no landmarks), carry lots of drinking water and do NOT stop or your car will sink....
