When I went to the Basilica, there were too many tourists, constantly clicking away and talking loudly. This made the place seem less like a historical place of worship and more like a market place. Some people took their shoes off, some didn't. Yet it was so peaceful there. Although, the church really needed a good clean. And there was a cleaner there. Hmmm. More

Our tour guide highlighted on the fact that the church houses the sacred relics of St. Francis Xavier. He mentioned that Goa is the "Rome of the East" due to churches like these in Goa. We learnt that "Bom" means "Good". The people here place high respect to St. Francis Xavier. More
