This is just opposite to the Bom Jesus Basilica. It is an old cathedral and worth a visit if you are visiting Old Goa.

Se Cathedral is the largest church in India. The church is located opposite to Bom Jesus church and this stands in a very large property that is well maintained with lawns and pavements. The view of this church from a distance is too good. Looks like some of the western churches with its tall and large structure, painted pure white... More

Se Cathedral, also called Se Cathedral de Santa Catarina was first built in 1510 (quite a few churches in Goa were built in 1510 when Afonso de Albuquerque defeated Adil Shah on Catherine day). The church was over time enlarged, rebuilt, completed in 1619 and consecrated in 1640. The maim altar in the cathedral is dedicated to St Catherine. On... More

This place could do with some TLC, especially given its history and fact it's the largest in Asia. If you are Catholic don't be offended by the Indian crowds who will not shut up despite signs everywhere asking for silence and respect and who will drop their rubbish, fag ash and have their mobile phones ringing at every opportunity. Unlike... More

This excellent beautiful white church would have been excellent had it been maintained well. The interiors of this church are excellent but poorly maintained, which will make the church loose its charms.

It is a world heritage site which looms over the landscape in Old Goa.As you stand outside the Basilica of Bom Jesus this white building looms over on the other side of the road and just looking at it you know it is a must see. When you go in make sure you have a guide because most of what... More

This cathedral looked so white and luminous and gigantic from outside. The interior betrayed its age and lack of care, though there was scaffolding up at the altar so I hope improvements are in the offing. An impending visit from Pope Francis has probably kick-started that. There's an impressive painting of a hefty and sturdy-legged Saint Christopher wading through water... More

construction and renovation works almost completed, beautiful building which taken back to 400 years back Portuguese era..large space and goo works. They could have maintained little more better by putting more care on painting and all. Management or Parish should take care of keep and maintain the beauty of this old church in a proper manner.

This is a beautiful cathedral but seeing it after about 32 years I was shocked at how badly it has been maintained considering it's a World Heritage site. It was built in 1662. Most of the gold paint has flaked off from the statues and it did not look like there was any restoration work going on. There is one... More
