We made a stop here as part of our day in port coming off a cruise. Everyone was very nice and informative. They had monkeys that interacted with us as well as other animals (including parrots). It was cheap and interractive and brief. Great way to get some interaction with local animal life.
We made time to stop in on our cruise day in port. I went in without any expectations.
On this day, we were greeted by our guide, a young child - but don't let age fool you - he was very pleasant, professional, and knew his information very well.
He took us to the butterfly hut first, gave us a...

A great tour, we went on our own(Cheaper) not with the resort(Media Luna) we were staying at, it was only $7 each to get in and my husband and I were the only people there that day so we got a private tour. The baby howler monkey(3 months old) stayed with us holding on to me the entire 90 mins...

Fun for a little native experience and to view some interesting animals and a butterfly sanctuary. It needs some better tour guides, but it's a small island and they do a good job for what its worth.
The Gardens are worth a stop. Some of the birds were beautiful and the tour guides were delightful. The lessons about butter flies were most interesting. Had seen several gardens, but never new that the top and bottom of most butter flies are different.
Got air? Lee and Anita offer long dives and have been in the diving business for a long time. This is not the place for you if you are a 'party person.' They are full serve, offering snorkeling, that can (almost) always compliment a dive, if someone in your party does not dive?
We were on a tour with Rony's Tours during a day trip in Roatan. This is a very nice little place. The cost is $7 pp. We got to see several different types of beautiful butterflies and also birds, macaws, parrots, etc. The guide was sweet and informative. We were all able to hold the parrots and that was fun....

This is a short walk from then main drag in West End and is a completely different experience form everything else. We saw several different bird species, even got a chance to have one perch on a finger. The butterfly part wasn't much but that could be because of the season. I was expecting something like the butterfly exhibit at...

This was a stop on the full day island tour and for a couple of hours, it was pleasant. The tour guide was friendly and informative. Quite a few tropical birds (the toucans were especially beautiful) and animals (including monkeys which are not indigenous to Roatan, and a raccoon who looked very miserable on a bare platform in a bare...
