The property is unique to Roatan. Just off the main road to a private beach area. This area is part of the Roatan Marine Park preserve. The reef system parallels the white sand beach of Sandy Bay The closiest swim to a underwater ecologial paradise teaming with tropical fish and corals. This area is a quiet tranquil area of Roatan without high end hotels and condos but close to the tourist meccas.

Sandy Bay beach is a small and somewhat isolated beach. It provides a great access point to the water with excellent kayaking and particularly snorkeling. The reef is a 100 yard swim away and is the second largest in the world. Amazing variety of coral and a good number of brightly colored fish and lobsters, etc.

If your looking for the ultimate, barefoot, island retreat, here it is. The rest of the mainline areas are fine if you want it, but my wife and I couldn't wait to get away from it all... People, kids, noise, music, etc... Make sure you stay at the Blue Bahia Resort!

This is on the North side of Roatan. A mountainous island that run right down to the beach in many locations. Sandy Bay has beautiful, over water sunsets every night! The beach is secluded and used by people staying in one of the 10 to 12 homes and SeaDancer Villas on the beach. Many properties have long docks. This makes... More

Beautiful long beach with plenty of decent snorkelling. There is a dolphin sanctuary (ok, perhaps, lets call it dolphin attraction, run by a resort), where you can snorkel around the net (free) or inside the net (for a hefty fee) with the dolphins. Renting a house in Sandy Bay is so much better than staying in a hotel.

Sandy Bay beaches were really nice, not as good as the West Bay beaches but still you'll find yourself relaxing along the calm waters and with no one bothering you.

Beautiful quaint beach. We enjoyed the local places to eat. Everyone was so very nice and gave suggestions when we asked about different things to do in the area.

Sandy bay is a pretty beach with lots of sea grass, mangroves, and good snorkeling. The sand flies bite and are prolific!

I have a house on Sandy Bay beach so I may be partial. Sandy Bay is a fairly long stretch of a few miles. So you have to know where people are staying to make any judgements. My stretch is from my house Casa Cowee on the east end of it and it goes by some stunning properties, Blue Bahia... More
