The property is unique to Roatan. Just off the main road to a private beach area. This area is part of the Roatan Marine Park preserve. The reef system parallels the white sand beach of Sandy Bay The closiest swim to a underwater ecologial paradise teaming with tropical fish and corals. This area is a quiet tranquil area of Roatan without high end hotels and condos but close to the tourist meccas.

Not the Best on Roatan

While on Roatan...you should avoid Sandy Bay Beach, since it has limited access to the reef system and is generally more "buggy" Best beach is West Bay (Tabiyana)....

We had rented a house on Sandy Bay for 5 weeks and only stayed for 2. The beach had about 20 feet of smelly seaweed full of fleas and garbage so you could not go into the water.. Also you had to climb over streams on wood etc to get along the beach. The best place was the Marina dock... More

5 min walk from hotel. There were several good snorkel areas. And several good spots to get a meal and a delish Tropical drink. Fair to good for sandy beach fun...But the beach is also the roadway to homes and small resorts...So beware of vehicles, 4 wheelers and scooters! Unfortunately we were there during a few storms, beaches covered in... More

I love sitting watching the boats, watching and talking scuba divers about what they saw while looking underwater and most of all the beautiful sunsets while dining in the grill each night.

The beach has a lot of seaweed and trash following a storm that preceded our arrival. The water seems clean but there was a hundred yards of seaweed in the water you,d have to swim through. The sand is not something I would lay out on a towel on. This is a third world country but Sandy Bay Beach should... More

There is nothing expectacular about that beach to spend time. The only thing it was the fish on the water

If you are looking for the stereotypical lounging beach, this is not your best option. My family and I recently rented a house on Sandy Bay beach, and we were delighted with the snorkeling. The beach itself had a lot of trash, serves as a road, and has a great deal of foot traffic. The snorkeling: The reef is a... More

It is so quiet and peaceful here right now. Few tourists, boats and not too many insect issues. Snorkeling is good on both sides of the reef which is a decent swim even if you are starting at the end of a dock. If you are an inexperienced snorkeler, you would probably be more comfortable inside the reef. The beach... More
