The day we spent on a tour to Semuc Champey (combined with the nearby caves) was honestly one of my favourite days in 5 months of travelling through Central America. The pools are stunning and our guide had us jumping and diving from different sections as well as using some of the rocks as natural waterslides - amazing! The walk... More

Fantastic place, definitely hike the mirador (viewpoint). Most people miss the raging river which flows into the underground at the very top of Semuc Champey, check out it but be very cautious if you have kids. The pools are amazing, clean and clear to swim in. Down river you can tube, do a guided tour in a cave with river... More

Loved Semuc Champey so much I ended up living there for 10 years. When visiting Guatemala don't leave with out a trip to Lanquin, Semuc Champey and the surrounding caves, you will not be disappointed. Nowadays you can get there with ease, especially from Antigua on a direct shuttle. It can be a long trip, but the "getting there" is... More

Really nice place, the pools are lovely. Make sure you take a look around the whole place, and definitely head up to the Mirador - it's a long steep climb, but worth it for the view! More

Booked through Andrenalina tours (also took us from Tikal down to Coban - excellent service), the falls were amazing the bat cave you could definately miss, felt very unsafe in cave ,not worth the risk of slipping compared with other caves. Our guide took us down the falls and showed us the safe routes. It was beautiful swimming in waters. I... More

This is a must see while in Guatemala. It is not easy to get to, but wow is it well worth the time. Nowhere else will you see such beautiful scenery and natural pools to dive right into while basking in the sun. Semuc displays the true beauty of Guatemala! More

Semuc Champey is one of the must-do things in Guatemala - I visited it during the Semana Santa and it was awfully crowded with (local) tourists, which made the experience less enchanting and relaxing than I expected. I heard that most of the time it is indeed very quiet and you pretty much have the whole site for yourself. More
