It is a nice mixture of a religious and tourist destination. The monastery dates back to the 900s and today is converted into a museum and tourist facility, with only the church in the monastery used as a house of worship. Also, nearby there are the sources of the Black Drin River (the largest and very attractive water inflow into... More

Very clean, calm and beautiful place! Visited on 1 January when the place was really crowded. However the walk through the area was nice and relaxing. Recommend it!

It isn't an ordinary monastery. Although the season time i went there has not many tourists, it was obvious that the place was very touristic. Full of closed stores, which are opening in the summer, totally commoditizing area..

St. Naum monastery was founded by sv.Naum 1000 years ago. Surrounding the buildings of the monastery is comforting (see my photos).

The Lake Ohrid area, including St Naum, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Macedonia. The monastery was established in the 10th by St. Naum of Ohrid himself. A medieval, enlightener, one of the seven Apostles and missionary among the Slavs. He was among the disciples of Saints Cyril and Methods and is associated with the creation of... More

I realize, as tourists, that we were part of the problem. And visiting Saint Naum is almost a must-do when in Ohrid. We took the scheduled ferry over and... More
