It's a very basic Orthodox Church. Not very interesting on the inside: few decorations and only some incons and that is it. The outside is a bit overshadowed by all the construction that is going on, I really hope it will become something nice! The view is okay, but it's better at other places. I would recommend visiting other churches,... More

Neatly rebuilt and restored, this church has become one f the symbols of Ohrid. Situated on Plaoshnik hill, it is surrounded by archaeological excavations and new buildings are being constructed around - they should serve the local university, but I am not sure about the look of the whole site then. There was a tickets office at the entrance to... More

At the moment this church is surrounded by excavation and construction, which really takes you out of the moment when viewing the church. Down the hill, St Johns is a far better visit.

Volatile history, nice setting (yet not even close to St. Jovan Kaneo's one), excavations on site... What worries me is the construction works for University in that location - wonder whether final effect will spoil the effect or not.

This is well restored site just around from the slightly-more-famous St. John's at Kaneo. It has a scenic setting by the lake and is interesting as it has a newer appearance inside and out than many historic sites. Also, nearby is a very well done archaeological site for an ancient Christian basilica; the mosaic tile floors are amazingly well preserved.

As Orthodox churches go, it's well ... an Orthodox church. New and not terribly interesting, but worth a brief stop if you're visiting the ancient ruins nearby.

The "new" Saint Clement is to be found on the Plaosnik Hill. It was newly built according to ancient plans and incorporates fragments of the former construction. It is not without charm, but in roder to see it one has to pass through the touristic entrance to the (formerly free visitable) hill, and that does imply a detour if you... More

The setting is stunning and the history fascinating. A Roman site, developed as a church by St Kliment (the local hero), demolished by muslims and rebuilt as a mosque and now rebuilt as a beautiful church. Now the site is being developed as the renewed University, with the structure bridging the archaeological remains. Will it work? Time will tell. We... More

The monastery is beautiful. Unfortunately, it is not original but rebuilt recently. In the monastery St. Kliment's school took place in 9th century when and where the priests were taught in Cyrilic.

The walk up & down there is lovely, either ways (we took two different paths). Once you've reached the church, you can of course enjoy it, as well as the wonderful views over the lake.
