The area is beautiful, no hiking / walking maps were available from shops, but they will be published soon, however accidentally discovered that a brand new Info Center just out of town is now open - not far from Biljana Springs/Makpetrol roundabout-petrol station. Some routes are marked (coloured paint on rocks and trees). Lovely walks.

when we were there in March '12, there was a lovely new sparkly building at the edge of Ohrid, with exhibiton cases and merchandise for sale (including maps, it seems) but there was no staff. no-one. most odd. as far as we could tell there are info boards at trailheads and some trails are marked, but actually seeing where they...

I didn't take because I had no time, but I was informed that there are more hiking (marked) tracks, so I plan to get back sometimes for this. The mountain looks excellent.

On the way to St. Naum you'll find Galicica National Park (pronunciated Galichitsa). This big big mountain offers great views of the lake, beautiful nature and promises a day full of fun.
