After Kameo church and Ploshnik, you will probably end here. It is nothing special. It is kinda similar to the fortress in Skoplje, though a smaller one. Has a good view of the lake. It has a fee but some 30 minutes before closing I think it is free, or it was free because of the holiday.

Just take any street uphill in the old town and enjoy great views, old and new houses and find your way to the castle. Turn left and right whenever you want and enjoy the old city. Our favourite walk downwards is towards the end of the boardwalk. Nice little bars for a drink, sandwich, beach and sunny views.

A great view but not much else there and quite a walk up if it's very hot. Glad we did it though as the view is great

Samuel's fortress is really ancient. It is a little more than the surrounding wall, on which you can walk and enjoy the nice view of the city and Lake Ohrid. Inside the wall a little can be seen of previous foundations of walls of buildings. No walking around the inner grounds inside of the wall.

This is one of the few places I've been to where you can walk just about anywhere you like. Nothing seems off limits. This is both good and bad. Good if you're a sensible adult and can respect the history behind the fortress, and tread gently without causing too much damage, but also bad as there are some serious dangers... More

there is not much to the fortress but the wall. it has been reconstructed in the recent years and one can walk around. it provides good views on all parts of ohrid.

It's worth the climb up from the town and on to walls for the marvellous view of the town and the lake.

This has been well restored. Well worth a list with good views over Ohrid and the lake. It can be part of enjoyable walk above Ohrid.

The ticket to get into the fortress is very cheap (30MKD = 0,50€ at time of writing) and I think it is totally worthy as the view is stunning and you can take amazing pictures from the towers.
