We stayed in Ohrid two nights and after noisy cities it was a big pleasure to enjoy calm and small town. The lake is just amazing, from the rocks u can see stones in transparent water .

Just look at the pictures. Also try the paragliding if you can, over the lake its breathtaking. The town is cheap and the people welcoming, great place to stop.

I think this is a must do if you are in Macedonia. The lake is lovely. The monastery nearby is easy to get to. The ruins and old amphitheater are impressive. I really also enjoyed the fresh food market.

Have come upon this lake many times from both sides. My favorite approach is driving from Lake Prespa in Albania over the mountains high in the clouds and arriving at Lake Ohrid at sunset. Spectacular.

Ohrid is a major tourist destination but relatively quiet out of season. Lots of old churches to see and worth a drive around the lake

I visited this place a few years ago and had an amazing time. The nature is fantastic and still untouched by humans. The cities around the lake are small but very nice to visit. It is like a special hidden place in Europe. Fantastic and not many tourists. Definitely a place to visit!

Nearby Struga is also worth a visit to see the beautiful river dream whose crystal clear waters flow into Ohrid lake. Like much of Macedonia, this is not a place to go for a Stag... More

This is a huge lake with lots of boats to take you places, an old town full of quaint shops and cafes, and a long promenade to walk along in the cool of the evening. There are lots of hotels in all price ranges and... More
