If the fortress in Siwa town is THE place to see the sunrise, this is THE place to see the sunset. You can rent a bike from Siwa town and bike all the way here. The roads are simple and you will not get lost. There is a little joint that sells tea, fruits, etc. They are quite overpriced. Bring... More

Enjoy the calm lake and the travelling birds that take a rest by the lake before they continue their long journey from cold Europe to warm Africa . Lake is very salty if were are tempted to swim in.

Siwa is fascinating and like most of Egypt cannot simply be packaged into Pharaonic, Coptic, Islamic, WW2 or modern... it is all of the above. Siwa is a fascination site.It is a small oasis. It is mainly related to Alexander the Great. when you will be there , just remember my statement, you feel that Alexander is somewhere looking at you. It is magic. when you will be there standing over the mountain of the dead and have a look over the lake of Siwa... More

Siwa not the easiest to get to and does not provide a lots of services, but what it lacks in modern makes up for in down to earth charm. The people are friendly and unique as most are Bedouin descent. Highlight was actually camping overnight next to one of the thermal springs not far from Lake Siwa.
