Spectacular hike with amazing views

The hike around the lake takes several hours but it is worth every step. The natural setting of the extinct volcano lake is breathtaking everywhere you look, prepare to be wowed.

The lake/crater is beautiful but we weren't able to take the boat ride. Too few boats running for the amount of people waiting. Poorly managed. But beautiful.

We took a camuńeta up to the lake and went in the back side, despite the fact that you aren't technically supposed to. The path is clear and you get great fews of both the iridescent lake and the surrounding mountains. It took about 4 hours for us to circumnavigate the lake, however you can choose to do just a... We took the long hike around the lake. Very beautiful. Took us 4 hours with a 30 minute break half-way. It is a lot of ascending, but there are a lot of benches to rest for a bit and continue the magnificent journey around the lake. The last part is walking alongside a road for 30 minutes without any view... More

Laguna Cuicocha had some of the most amazing views in all of Ecuador. When we first arrived, we hiked up the path near the parking lot to get a better view of the lake. It only took about 10 minutes and was well worth it. This is a great spot for pictures. I would also highly recommend taking the boat... More

it is a 5 hours tour, with the altitude of 3400m, not so cold. compared with Quitoloa, this one is not beautiful as that one.

This lake is a crater lake - with no fish due to high levels of sulphur. It is very pretty and was nicknamed the guinea pig lake as one of the islands resembled the shape of a guinea pig. There are a couple of places to eat up there - and the views are great.

I was there during an Inti-Raymi ceremony, so the experience was a bit unique. Nevertheless it's a beautiful setting. If you take the boat ride, and there's no reason not to, don't forget your free thimble-ful of free canelazo. It's served warm and it was cold on the lake, just right!

You need only look at a picture to realize that this lake is stunningly beautiful. Makes you want to swim in its azure water, except that it's usually quite cold and windy and I'm sure the water is equally chilly. Instead you can enjoy the view for a few hours while walking around the rim. I have to say that... More

It was a nice view of the lake, the ride on boat was fun and the tour guide to explain things about the lake was great. Nothing out of this world, but it was nice
