This lake is formed at the top of an old volcano. The water is clear and if you take the boat ride around the lake, you will see there are still bubbles coming up at the center of it. It is pleasant and has wonderful views.

They have a lovely lookout point, a small indigenous stalls with local crafts for sale and a couple of restaurants. The one at the top of the hill is the best in my opinion. Great food! Just dress warm At the high altitude the wind off the water can be quite a chilly surprise! The boat ride is interesting but... More

This is a caldera left by an erupted volcano. It is possible to hike around it (about 4 hours) and they also have a boat you can ride. I just walked around the one edge and got some amazing pictures. I got there before any boats went out, so I saw a pristine clear view.

Laguna Cuicocha is a lovely lake in a beautiful mountain setting. It has a really nice exhibit facility. We didn't hike around too much because we were short on time, but it was well worth the trip just seeing it.

We went with a guide from Runa Travel but you could probably do on your own. Took us 4 hours with stops and we did 3/4 of loop. Safe, beautiful.

We loved hiking the trial around the lake. We have a 9 and 11 year old, so we were not able to complete the whole route. Need 4-5 hours to make that happen. But, nonetheless, beauty spot. Simply hire a taxi / ask your hotel for a driver to take you out / wait. $35 U.S. Took us there, and... More

Getting public transportation here is extremely easy just ask at your hotel no need to book a expensive tour. If you have the option try to go on a clear day, we never got to see the top of the volcano while we were there. It is still extremely beautiful though! There is a trail that goes all the way...
