This is a very worthwhile hike. The scenery is beautiful and serene, and although you will find a few fellow hikers, there are not many. The best approach is to start at the beginning of the trail but have transportation waiting at the place where you come off the lake circuit; this saves an hour or more hiking down a... More

Perfect for a few hours of hiking. Great views of the lake and surrounding area. Take your camera, plenty of sun cream and bug spray. More

Cuicocha is a very worthwhile trip. There is a boat ride around the laguna (2$) and many hiking trails. There is even a lovely (and yummy) cafe. Whether you want a relaxing afternoon, or an adventurous experience, Cuicocha can give you both. It is worth the trip. Getting to Cuicocha is easy, there are lots of methods, but honestly, if... The water level access is quite touristy...opt for hiring a local taxi to drive you up to the less visited viewpoint above the lake. You can hike around or part way. More

The raw natural beauty is amazing! There was nothing to dislike. Try to time you visit with dinner- there is a great restaurant (can't remember the name at the top of the ridge, then take a boatride around the little island. More

It is a very nice laguna but if you are well traveled and use to seeing incredibly beautiful remote views, you may be slightly underwhelmed. Be aware that if you want to hike, make sure your taxi driver knows where to drop you off. I spent an 1 1/2 looking for the trail as I was dropped off at the... More

There is a short hike up to the lake, and longer hikes if you are up to it. There is also a boat launch so that passengers can go around the islands in the lake. The views are beautiful. More
