This is a very picturesque and isolated castle. The displays are quite interesting and written in understandable English. It is a long way up the various slopes, ramps, steps, ladders, and staircases. If you are able-bodied, it is a good excercise. If you are frail, or afraid of heights, you should look from afar. More

I toured the Trakoscan castle and grounds and had a good time. The castle has been renovated and still contains some of the original furntiure. More

This amazing castle in northern Croatia is breath taking. It is a quiet little jewel in the mountains far from any city. This castle is situated in a quite deserted part of Hrvatsko Zagorje in the middle of a forest and in vicinity of mountains. We made a mistake of going to Trakošćan on week-end, when this highly visited tourist attraction was crowded with tour buses and invaded by jolly groups of school kids.
