We stayed in the nearest village and walked down the road to the national park, entering at entrance 2. You really don't need to pay for a guided tour; the boardwalks are easy to navigate and ensure that you don't miss anything when there. The cost of boat rides/bus rides are included in your ticket price (180 kuna per adult;... More

This was on my bucket list! We did the "B" trail and I would plan on 3 hours. The crowds were manageable, but one should prepare to be bumped some. This is the most beautiful place with hundreds of falls, miles of wooden walk ways, and water everywhere (underneath, side, ) the water is really as blue/green as one can... More

I am so glad that I went to this National Park. It is simply breathtaking! I can't recommend this park enough. There are different routes that you can take, but all are beautiful.

Really enjoyed my visit here. The lakes and waterfalls really are stunning! We arrived in the afternoon and it was very busy - the pace of walking on the boardwalks is incredibly slow during peak time. But we also stayed the night and went early the next morning (at about 9am) and that was much less busy.

Plitvica national park is very famous in the Balkans and it lives up to its name. They are beautiful. Seem like something out of a tropical movie set. Take the middle entrance and you take a short boat ferry to the other side of the lake where you can hike uphill and have a bus take you back down to... More

Plitvice lakes is absolutely beautiful ... but getting there was a real undertaking. There are two entrances to the park -- we entered from the second, southern entrance because we heard that the first, northern entrance was busier and more crowded. Hard to know, because the entrance we used was plenty crowded. As soon as we got inside the park,... More

Following all the reviews here, we started early from Senj (100km from Plitvice Lakes) and we were right. No queue at all at entrance 2. We started our trip with the upper lakes, what is the right way to do it. We have had a quiet walk (H road) on the upper lakes and we have had the tile to... More

One of the most beautiful and well maintained National Parks that I have seen so far. It requires an entire day to complete this National Park, so better to plan that way. 6-8 hours is the minimum amount of trek in the entire National park. There are very minimal food options available so best thing to do is enjoy your... More

The park is famous worldwide and rightly so. The views are awesome. The trails are comfortable and blend well with the natural surroundings. We did the H route and it was just right for us. The problem is the huge amount of people. We waited in line for tickets for about 45 minutes. We parked illegally because there was absolutely... More

Brilliant attraction to visit, and I'd strongly recommend you do. Though for some there might be too much walking, it is such lovely walking around some of the most beautiful lakes I've seen with waterfalls and azure water. The process of buying tickets is rubbish. Be aware that at the time we went there were 3 ticket offices and one... More
