Like nothing I've ever seen before. Definitely worth making the time to go. Extraordinarily beautiful. It had rained the day before our visit and the walkways in the lower lake area were washed out, but they were still accessible as no one had roped the paths off. At times, we were ankle deep in water, but it was totally worth... More

this is unbelievable. We had a great walk and took lots of pictures. Our 2 kids didn't want to go back to the hotel because the nature was so beautiful.

Very nice lakes with nice waterfalls. Spent about 2 hours walking around them. There are some caves, bridges and a boat ride one can take. Nice family atmosphere.

Unpolluted lakes with many waterfalls. You will never want to leave when you see the lakes. The water is so green and looks like the colour of an emerald. If you like photographing, you are strongly advised to bring a CPL filter to remove the glare of water surface. With a tripod and slow shutter speed, amazing pictures with silk-like... More

Definitely a must see in Croatia. The sights are just so beautiful and you get right up close to the waterfalls. If you are going in the next day or two probably best wear shoes that can get wet. A few paths were flooded and I was very jealous of people in sandals. It doesn't ruin your experience, just slows... More

This is one of the world's most beautiful parks. There are so many waterfalls - large, small, wide, tall - that you won't be able to count them. It's quite a large park so give yourself time to thoroughly enjoy it and discover all it's beauty. It can be busy (eg. Hoards of children on school trips), but you can... More

After all we had read, this was going to be one of the highlights of our Croatian road trip. We spent a lovely morning around the lower lakes and visiting the biggest waterfall.......until the heavens opened. We then spent over 2 hours in the cafe waiting for the rain, thunder and lightening to end but it didn't. So disappointed we... More

Don't be a sucker! The plitvice lakes are not to be missed. Despite torrential rain we still had a great time and they were just as stunning. However, my sister and I were looking into doing one of the many organised tours from zadar and found most charged a min €70 (not including entry or food)! Instead we caught the... More

The scenery is incredible - well worth the visit. What detracts from the experience is the hordes of tourists (6000 per day!!!! ). Fortunately the amenities, boats and trains run smoothly, so everything works - just get your mind around the tourists - a small majority of whom are downright rude and arrogant. Our best time was hiring a row... More
