The Plitvice Lakes is amazing tourist attractions, a verdant valley of 16 lakes strung together with waterfalls and tumbling rivers with miles of elevated wooden walkways. Stay one or two nights and spend the day hiking. :)

The visitor may cross by boat one the lakes and keep walking on the wooden pathways on the other side of the lake. On this site the pathway is almost on the same level of the water in some parts although wooden steps take the visitor to various levels of lakes.

We parked at Entrance 1 and proceeded to the lakes. Part way along the path we discovered that all the ways down to the lower lakes were closed. We had planned on taking one of the suggested walks, but could't as parts were closed. There were no signs or information advising us of this. Had we of known we would... More

A break in the weather of a very rainy summer allowed us to sneak in a visit between the days of steady downpours. All that rain provided amazing waterfalls to see and hear. Some trails were "closed" due to excessive rainfall, but the hardy waded barefoot and the better-prepared wore water shoes to slosh though. Very fun! Frequent shuttle buses... More

I had heard how spectacular plitvice was that I was a bit disappointed due to my very high expectations. On a world scale it does not rate in my... More

Flooded at the time but made for an interesting walk. Still very beautiful. Our shoes were totally soaked through but it was worth it to see the rest of the beauty offered at the park.

Ideally visited in autumn or early morning or just before park close, we are the only thing that marr the experience.
