This church dominates Makarska in the central square, inthe heart of the town.We were impressed with the building and wanted to go in as there was such beautiful singing however we simply enjoyed it sitting outside and looked out over the sea.

The best part about this is its a nice area to sit and relax in the Sunshine! Especially if it's windy and you can't enjoy the waterfront this place is blocked by all the tall buildings around it. The church is a typical church! Don't plan your day to visit it because you'll be done with it in minutes!

Situated in the heart of the old town of Makarska, this church looks a bit plain from the outside, but walk in through the door and it is a different story. Even more so when there is a christening taking place.

At the heart of the city, the largest city square is a monument to Andrew DANUBE, (the work of John Rendić), built in 1890s. year. On the north side of the square is closed Kačićev church of Sts. Mark built the 1766th , and behind the church is an old school built in the 19th century with elements of classical... More

The church is OK, but I would not call it a historic monument of any real significance. Some icons are nice, the architecture is average for the period. Worth a brief visit. I like churches generally speaking; this one was your run-of-the-mill place of worship, nothing to gape at.

Makarska is difficult to love. It is full of drunken 18-25 year-olds; terrible bars with cheap cocktails; hoards of spaghetti-and-chips brigade families and tacky market stalls. As a result, any pleasant area was seized upon for photos and a calm sit down. St Mark's Church was, sadly, closed to visitors on the day we were in Makarska. However, the square... More
