Amazing view

The view from the fortress is amazing. It is very cheap to go inside if you want and there is a nice cafe and clean toilets. Don't miss the chance if you go in Hvar.

Visited Hvar as a port of call on Windstar's Venice to Athens cruise. The town is known for its beautiful valleys and picturesque bays; the climb up to the fortress affords magnificent views of the town and harbor and Pakieni Islands. Well worth a stop!

Just the walk up to the fortress was an amazing experience with wonderfull views. Once inside (tickets are very cheap by the way) you get a wonderfull feel of how it must have been to guard the walls centuries ago, or what it may have felt like to be a prisoner in their dungeons.

Was worth the effort to get up to the fort around a 10-15 min walk - which has amazing views over Hvar town, harbour and the Pakleni Islands. Go around sunset for even more dramatic photo opportunities! Definitely worth the 30 kuna entrance fee!

The view was really beautiful, there isn't much else worth seeing there though other than that.If you're walking up there it's some uphill so it's good to go in the afternoon.

It's worth wearing sneakers if you decide to walk up to the fortress. The path is a switch back up up the hill with a fair incline and good number of stairs. The view at top is worth the effort.

A very steep climb to reach Hvar Fortress, but definitely worth it. The fortress itself was very interesting and worth the entrance fee of 40 Kuna. There is a café inside the fortress. The views are spectacular and it was nice to get away from the hectic tourist crowds. There are benches all the way up the walkway to the... More
