The good things: its the classiest beach around Hvar and a 10 min boatride, the sunbeds umbrellas and most of all an amazing dj that unfortunately plays after 16h which is a shame for a beach designed to look close to a house beach club. Cocktails and food are pricey (but the salads are really big portions). After 17h it... More

I have been to palmazena's beach and for me it was just too crowded! I liked it, but more than a national park it felt like fancy restaurants and hotels! There were so many boats you could only swim in designated small areas! I would say to this park only if you have a boat and find your own little... More

Got the taxi over to pakleni Islands. Palmizana beach. Not sandy like uk but rocky. Very very busy probably heavenly out of season but just too busy. Nice ride over but there is a good 10 to 15 min walk on other side to be aware of. Lots of sea urchins too so wear water shoes. Enjoyed it but probably... More

We asked around and 500 kuna for a 5hp (fuel included) tub seems to be the going price, perhaps you can negotiate but we didn't try. Ended up getting a 20hp for 900 with the idea of circumnavigating the islands. There are lots of coves to put the boat and eat or swim - find one you like and relax.... More

You can take a water taxi to a different beach/island each day. They are cheap and you find the taxis at the Hvar harbour. Just check to see where you want to go. You can also rent a boat and explore the islands in a day. On each island there are different beaches, restaurants and bars. If you take a... More

This is by far the best activity in Hvar (if you're not into clubbing!). You can visit these tiny islands in a water taxi, but unless you are of a really nervous disposition you ought to just rent your own boat and drive yourself. The process of renting a small boat with an outboard motor is really quite simple. I... More

Milna Beach on the nearest island to Hvar was great. Lovely little beach with a great bar/konobo right on it. We sunbathed on large outdoor beanbags (the ultimate sunbathing experience). The water was lovely and it only cost £4 per head for the taxi boat.

I assume that around July and August, it is not as peaceful as it was in May/june, but this place is absolutely fabulous. The agents by the port in Hvar, rent you boats which you can drive yourself and get to the closest of the Pakleni islands. There is no other way to get there.. the islands are marvelously untouched.... More

If you are looking for something spectacular Pakleni Islands is not your place. Reading the reviews from TripAdvisor I was expecting the islands to be little jewels in the middle of the sea. However, they are just a bunch of rocks with some pines. If you are looking for fun, calm and something new, then this may be your place.... More

There are several destinations you can go to on the Pakleni Islands. We took an afternoon trip from Hvar to Palmižana Beach on the island of Sveti Klement. Though it was a pretty island, it wasn't any more beautiful than the beaches you can find on Hvar and the beach itself was not as nice. Also, the restaurants would not... More
