Charming Walled City

Delightful hamlet about 45 minutes by local bus from Dubrovnik. Off season so many places were closed but no crowds and easy to navigate.

It's very small, beautiful little church, monastery is only a church. Mausoleum at the cemetery with beautiful panoramic view. The harbour is more beautiful with restaurants and bars and pubs and a beautiful sea view. Its pitoresk

It is a perfect place away from hustle and bustle, small, cosy, friendly. We came there from Dubrovnik to spend whole day. We started our morning with cayaking, then explored the town itself, went to the cemetery, ate ice-cream and spent rest of the day on the rock beach, experiencing sunset as well. In the evening, fish dinner. Definitely worth... More

We stayed just outside the old town but within walking distance, many nice resturants and bars .The harbour has the most amazing yachts. Also booked boat trip to dubrovnic which is a must.look on line to check out the best days and times to go to avoid the many cruise ships.Real value for money lovely place.

We stayed at a B and B off in the hills near Cilipi but we drove to Cavtat almost every day. Most days we just picked big flat rocks on the seaside to sit and read, watch the yachts come in, and jump off into the water. We swam and snorkeled and brought snacks and generally enjoyed summer relaxation. The... More

We stayed in Cavtat in July and we had never been to Croatia before. The Old town is beautiful, picture perfect. Although it is quite small, it has lots of restaurants and bars and the food was great and inexpensive. Many of these are looking out to sea and have wonderful views of the sunset. It is also possible to... More

We travelled here by local bus service and it is a wonderful town to wander round you can walk round the edge of the coast line through the trees from the bus station northwards but you can also from the main restaurant/café area of Cavtat walk along the coast on a wide path with wonderful views of the sea back... Some places shut early so make sure you go in the holiday season. We went end of October and so everyone was ready to close for winter.
