Unfortunately we were disappointed with the Baisha murals because they are in such poor condition, and the one or two that have some details left are hard to see because they are so poorly lit.

We traveled around Lijiang in July 2011(There were 6 of us - 2 adults and 4 children.).We hired a English-speaking guide ,Lily(her email:lilychenlijiang@hotmail.com).She is a sweet, kind, and considerate guide. Her knowledge of the area was remarkable. highly recommended her!!!

The frescoes were a disappointment, dark and not well presented.
There was a racket at the end of the tour, as exit was possible only through the back door, forcing one to walk around to the car park past rows of stores selling tourist junk.

Lijiang is the best place for retreat and be away for a week or two. Stay away from highrise buildings and fastrack traffics. No air pollutions, so scenic and calm. One can imagine immediately after lunch just slide down to your lazy chair waiting for the cool breeze brushing off your face.
Ah ha! I mean snooozzzz...... how you like...
