Mrs Li has been an incredible guide for the two days we spent with her. She took us off the main tourists's spot to peaceful villages and beautiful scenery, telling us interesting stories along the way. She also came with us to Shangri-La, stopping on the way to some of new highlights. Whar was good about Mrs Li is that... More

Climb Yulong mountain (where the god lives) 1) Getting to the highest altitude in your life It is exciting to take the cable car to the altitude of 4506 km above the see level, and climb to the 4636 km which maybe the highest altitude I can get in my life. 2) Never miss the show “Lijiang, Impression” You... A short distance from old town (about 15 minute ride), you can experience some of the oldest architecture in China while it's still there. With water flowing everywhere and lush vegetation throughout, it is a very peaceful setting with lots of photo opportunities, shopping and dining opportunities for authentic cuisine. You'll see the Naxi people as they really are, and... More

Yes it is expensive, then again it is worth it. Lijiang is still very much trapped in time and it may still be so for the next couple of years. The good thing is that it is now accessible. There are now toilets that will not make you puke so much. The scenery in April and May is amazing and... More

I have been to Lijiang more than 4 times in total, and had recently decided to move there to live. However, I'd like to use this chance to raise the attention for travelers and esp. the UNESCO World Heritage regarding some of the problems that I've observed over the years. One of the biggest problems is the local government's lack... More

Visited Lijiang from 11 Dec - 16 Dec 2011. For the adults it was an interesting experience to see different architecture. The kids however did not enjoy much of the scenery (mountains) except the horse ride and wetland at Lashihai. We experienced very cold weather. Temperature dropped to -2deg. If you are visiting during winter period, do not stay in... More

With a backdrop from The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, A beautiful park that has the Black Dragion Pool as it's centre piece. Fed by the said mountain, the pool in turns feeds Lijiang with an inexhaustable supply of crystal clear water. A Daoist temple, arched bridge & gardens, this is a great place to while away a few hours slowly. More

The "Black Dragon Pool" Park boasts a Qing pavilion, a 400-year-old temple gate and equally old lion statues, and a lovely 5-arch bridge. You can hear Daoist musicians playing 800-year-old music. The mountains and landscape surrounding Black Dragon Pool bring the loveliest classical Chinese paintings to life! More
