Mrs Li has been an incredible guide for the two days we spent with her. She took us off the main tourists's spot to peaceful villages and beautiful scenery, telling us interesting stories along the way. She also came with us to Shangri-La, stopping on the way to some of new highlights. Whar was good about Mrs Li is that...

A short distance from old town (about 15 minute ride), you can experience some of the oldest architecture in China while it's still there. With water flowing everywhere and lush vegetation throughout, it is a very peaceful setting with lots of photo opportunities, shopping and dining opportunities for authentic cuisine. With a backdrop from The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, A beautiful park that has the Black Dragion Pool as it's centre piece.
Fed by the said mountain, the pool in turns feeds Lijiang with an inexhaustable supply of crystal clear water. A Daoist temple, arched bridge & gardens, this is a great place to while away a few hours slowly.

The "Black Dragon Pool" Park boasts a Qing pavilion, a 400-year-old temple gate and equally old lion statues, and a lovely 5-arch bridge. You can hear Daoist musicians playing 800-year-old music. The mountains and landscape surrounding Black Dragon Pool bring the loveliest classical Chinese paintings to life!
