It was an impressive walk around the heritage park. The whole place is charming and the people are so friendly. They are many tea house, music shop with girl playing drum, beautiful flowers evrywhere, local Naxi ladies with their traditional dresses. It is so different from other places that I have being to. I just love this place.

the sightseing is very impressive. You must go to the little monastery. You are at 3800 meters so may be buy an O2 bottle?

I visited Lijiang in 2005. It is beautiful place and made a good time and good memory for me. The old town (Dayan old town) is charming and very nice view. Lijiang is the quiet place and nice to walk around town. you can see lovely creek, tea terrace shop, beautiful flower ,Naxi dress (local people wear upon) and local... More

Not a lot of time to spend here but what we saw was worth it ...the scenery lovely and met lots of beautiful older Chinese people who just wanted to talk and laugh even though not understanding a word any of us were saying !

Many of the reviews below refer to the old town of Lijiang itself, not the world heritage park. Today I walked to the location of the world heritage park (a little north of the old town) and found it is gone and houses are been built on it. Do not confuse the old town with the heritage park.

So long as there are not too many people, it is a lovely place to just wander through and take some great photos.

A beautiful serene traditional settings. A Unesco world heritage park worth visiting as the place is well kept. All Architecture are well preserved. Lijiang boasts of many minorities races. Culturally very rich.

Perhaps if you have been here before and saw it developing, you'd be disappointed. I personally liked it quite a lot. During the day mostly you can see the lovely canals, naxi women selling wonderful street food and listening to a lot of music. At lunch in the square you see minorities dancing, each to its own music. It is... More

This is my second visit; previous in 2004. Too many bars and Karaokes along the Northern streams are killing the charm of the place. The streams are dirty and the golden carps are gone. Hardly see those Naxi ladies and men who used to stroll along the streets of the old town that get it so much character. On this... More
