If you have been to JiuZhaiGuo, you will expect this place to be just as magnificent and as the entry is $220Yuan you have every right. Now the problem here is the ponds are sometimes dry and its a lot to pay if you arrive and they are dry and you just end up talking a long walk. The cable... More

After arrival in Chengdu, my friend and I joined a local tour in Chengdu to travel to JiuZhaiGuo and HuangLong. It's a 4 days 3 nights tour for about 1400 yuan per pax. There were about 40 of us, all local except two of us. We did not want to reveal our foreigner status. Day 1, we travelled for about... More

We went there on our own by a hired car in August 2011 when we were in Song Pan. The ticket is quite expensive given the local standard of living. The visitors have the choice of going up the top on foot or by taking cable car at a fee. We took the cable car. The visitors need to follow... More

Having visited JiuZhaiGou for 2.5 days prior to Huang Long, I had the same level of expectation but was slightly disappointed. To start with, we arrived at Huang Long at 8:30 a.m. and it was freezing cold. We were told it was -2 degrees celsius that October morning and it was snowing briefly on the car journey from JiuZhaiGou to... More

Travelers: Myself, my sis who are in our late twenties and my mum who is 56 years old. Getting there from Chengdu: Took bus from Chadianzi bus station. I went to buy the bus ticket one day before the travel date. I actually went to Xinnanmen bus station first to but the tickets there were sold out. There are more... More

Absolutely a beautiful park. Very similar to part of yellow stone. It is a must see park in China if you could manage to avoid two major holiday periods. One is May 1 and the other October 1. Just avoid any week before and after these two days. The gigantic rude crowd turned such a wonder land to a badly-managed... More

Having left Juizhai national park we were really looking forward to visiting huanglong a few days later. Having lived in China in 2008 I had seen so many photos of the park lakes and waterfalls it was a photo opportunity not to be missed. On arrival we did the usual route of ascending by cablecar walking through the forest and... More

We arrived at Jiuzhaihuan airport and immediately went off to Huanglong. We took the cable car up the mountain having had to wait in line for approximately 45 minutes. Each car takes only eight people but the turn-around is very quick. Once again, despite the best efforts of the staff at the cable car station the Chinese visitors turned into... More

Our hotel (Sheraton Jiuzhaigou) organized a taxi to take us to Huanglong and then onto the airport (500RMB). As the driver didn’t speak English, we ensured that the price was agreed before we left the hotel. We left the hotel at 8.30 and our flight was at 17.50. This really wasn’t enough time. The road between JZG and Huanglong is... More

Beautiful but tiring if not using the cable car, if you follow guided tour, please convince the tour guide to give you more time. If tour guide advise you to walk up slowly and only give you two hours, it will be very tiring. Use cable car to reach the mid hill, more beautiful scenery at the top of this... More
