After an exhausting walk from Premival Forest to Grass Lake, Swan Lake and thereafter to Arrow Bamboo Lake, Panda Lake and the Five Flower Lake, the waterfall was stunningly refreshing and a rejuvenating respite for us. We were trying to find a real rest spot along that seemingly endless wooden broadwalk but could not find a good one until this... More

Take a walk from Five Coloured Lake (五花海) to Pearl Shoals Waterfall. It is a pleasant walk, not too strenous. Nearing the waterfall, be prepared for a human traffice jam down to the base of the waterfall as tourists will stop at every step to marvel and photograph it. The waterfall is beatiful in itself. The volume of water is not that much but the view is good. The transportation arrangement is helpful. If you do not want to walk long distances, the coach will help you a lot.

One of the most beautiful waterfall in the nature reserve. Make sure you bring extra battery for your camera. If you go early, you will avoid the crowd and get great photos. A photographer's dream.

Photo enthusiasts would love this place. As with other nature attractions in Jiuzhai Valley, it offers it's own beauty and uniqueness. Loads of walking to do. However, the walkways leading to the waterfall is quiet in winter - no crowds pushing and getting in the way whilst you take photos. Also, the water freezes forming beautiful icicles.

Your camera will work overtime here. The stairs are difficult and there are a lot of them. Much better to start higher and walk down than the way we went. All up hill

This is one of the waterfalls within the park, I wouldn't say this is the best waterfall in the park.

I gave a 'very good' for the actual geographical feature as these falls seem quite unique. But- unfortunately the enormous crowds that swarm within this area it is very difficult to appreciate the beauty. Because of this I would really award this site a 'poor' rating in terms of quality of visit.

Pearl Shoal Waterfall is 1,017 feet wide. It's a very nice walk to the base of the fall. I would recommend walking the full loop around the falls . .on both sides.

It's been said to be the pride of China. Only when I get there I appreciate THAT meaning. The water-fall is wide and far apart. So, when the water gushes downstream, it would break against the rocks below. And so, it creates simmering reflection of water that looks like pearls & thus, its name. Highly recommended.
