This was a fun and short stop. You can walk around the small museam, stop in the gift shop and go to the top of the tower (elevator or steps). Views were very nice. It was a small costs (less than $10 for the museam and top of the tower, but you can just walk around the park for free.... more

The statue itself is impressive, being the largest cast iron one around. For $6 you get access to the museum and the observation deck. We arrived at 10am on a Monday and neither the Museum or Observation deck were open. So, even though the website says the park is open, the museum and observation deck may not be. You have to pay addmission for the elevator ride up to the observation deck. I suppose you could pay to walk up if you wanted to, my friend walked down.
