Fun and learning never end at McWane Science Center, a nonprofit, hands-on museum and IMAX(R) Dome Theater. Four floors of interactive exhibits celebrate science and wonder - from an amazing collection of dinosaurs to innovative environmental showcases, imaginative early childhood playgrounds, and an awe-inspiring aquarium. The energy and excitement of discovery spring to life through an extensive lineup of science demonstrations performed daily by talented educators. The adventure intensifies in the IMAX(R) Dome Theater, where wide-eyed visitors experience the sights and sounds of breathtaking films on a 5-story-tall screen surrounded by 3 tons of high-intensity speakers.

Great for Kids of All Ages (even adult kids)

Best IMax screen I have ever seen. The dome shape makes it really come to life. The center is large enough to keep kids occupied for hours, yet small enough not to intimidate.

A great place for kids of all ages. Many of the displays really are great to make you think and reason. You could probably spend a couple of hours in the main hall figuring out brain twisters. It is a fun place to visit.

Even if spring break had been sunny and warm this year we still would've come here. This was our second visit. From my 10 year olds to the 14 year old, even my senior mother, we love the McWane Center. Spent two days playing with everything. Lots of school groups in the morning, the afternoons were pretty quiet. Lunch was... More

Similar to other big hands-on science museums. Very interactive, has an IMAX theatre, a food court with pizza, subs, frozen yogurt and a great museum store. You can spend the whole day here and you will still have to drag them out. There are areas for preschool thru middle school aged children. Some of the exhibits change thru the year... More

We have all (adults and kids) enjoyed this museum both times we have visited. However, it is not as fun or efficient to go, if there are field trips and groups there.

I visited here recently with my daughter and her class on their field trip. There is at least 3 or 4 levels of interactive exhibits on each level. My favorite was the water exhibits on the bottom floor. Lots of kids love to be able to see the fish and stingrays. IMAX is fun, no matter where you sit. If... More

Best to go during the week if possible. Beware that adults cannot crawl into the current "Mousehouse" climbing area for toddlers to pull out reluctant children! Great educational experience, good for inclement weather or any time.

I love seeing grandparents having fun with their grandkids! And yes, the Mousehouse is best left for just the tots. Do come see us again, as we have a lot of exciting additions coming your way! More
