Can the city make anywhere safe? Why doesn't the city let the food trucks stay there all weekend. More people might come and more people might make it safer.

This park has a little bit of everything, it's a great use of space. Plenty of walking/jogging track, open green space for the kids, and great views of the lake or railroad. There was even someone playing with a remote controlled vehicle, people really seemed to enjoy it. The concession stand and open table sitting are eating area was clean...

This is a GREAT place to walk, especially in the early morning or early evening when it's cool and somewhat quiet. The sidewalks will take you on a 1/2 mile journey! Nice setting, with nice landscaping and lots to see. There are primitive exercise equipment and places to stretch along the way. There are even water fountains near the on-site...

Clean park with scenic views of downtown. The close-by train yard is also a nice sight. The addition of the Baseball field nearby along with Goodpeople Brewery is sure to make this a great downtown area.
Decided to check out this park since it was a sunny, warm day. Great in town green space next to the railroad tracks if you like trains which I do. Various walking trails, green space for frisbee, picnics, etc. Sandwich, hot dog stand near one end of park. Playground and exercise equipment. Saw singles, couples and families enjoying themselves
We walked our son's dog, George, at the park several times. It is maintained in a beautiful condition. We met a mounted policeman on a huge horse - he was so friendly and interested to hear where we came from (UK) We also attended a food festival where 'The Originals' showcased their amazing food. The park is so pretty and...

A great place to take a long lunch break and enjoy the fresh air. Also, a good place to let the kids play on the playground and take advantage of open spaces in an urban area.
Sit and quietly read a book, take a walk and enjoy a beautiful lake-side view, take kids to a really nice playground (I LOVE the rope pyramid!) or enjoy an evening concert - I have done them all here. Even fell in love on the bridge overlooking the reflection of the lights changing color in the water below. And don't...

Railroad park is in the middle of downtown Birmingham. It is a nice concept to use the old train yard for a community park. However, there have been times when we were there for special events, that I felt ,there needed be more police presence in and around the area. It is not in the safest area of town and,...

Great adaptive reuse of old railroad yards. Nice mix of passive recreation, with open fields, water features, and some concessions. Nice view of downtown. But the real accomplishment is building it directly across the street from the new baseball home of the Class AA Birmingham Barons. This will be a fabulous amenity for baseball crowds. Kudos to the city.
