Lined with shops and cafe, West Street is relatively busy during the day, with day tripping tourists (mainly Chinese) coming off the boat from Guillin..
But at night.. shazam! Wow, it's incredibly crowded and loud with all the restos and bars coming alive! But it's great people watching - loved it!

There is no escaping the fact that West St is the tourist trap in town. Most of the locals give it a wide berth. Just about everything is overpriced. This is a lovely cobbled street with many shops and restaurants. Be sure to bargain if you are out shopping and check many stores for the same item. Great shopping street! Most of the "100% Silk" isn't. Be sure to check out the nice batik table cloths.

Although basically a shopping street it is still a fun place to go.
Bought hand painted t shirts with our kids names in Chinese characters and seals with hand carved bottoms. Lots of restaurans and street fun.

The street is lined with beautiful old houses against a backdrop of mountains that make Guilin famous. It's almost surreal to be walking down an ancient street with loud pumping bars playing the latest pop music and pole dancing.
Must visit to be awed.

It is ok during the day but once evening comes around it gets very noisy and crowded. It is good for people watching while eating. Even though the places we had food at I can not recommend. It seems pretty clear that places there do not depend on repeat customers. I found it somewhat annoying that there are constantly street...
