This was one of the highlights of our trip. It's poetry in form of scenery, lights and colors. The show is called Impressions because that's what it aims to cause, impressions. There may not be a theme or story, but it's one impressive experience after the other. And of course, it's set in the most beautiful stage of the world... More

An incredible show with a cast of hundreds in the most scenic setting. The mountains several kilometres away were lit up and the waters sparkeled as the huge cast went about their performance.

The entrance ticket is RMB198 but we bought ticket thru the hotel we stayed and got a discounted price at RMB160. Considered pricy. The show is a disappointment. Just lights and music with no theme at all. Nothing related to the movie Liu San Jie. They says the cast number exceed 800 people. That's impressive.

Perhaps a bit dear, but 600 actors from ethnic minorities acting, "floating" above water for 1 hour with the magnificent karst hills as a backdrop. It's a once in a live time most impressive performance

It was a believe among the inhabitants belonging to ' Zhuang' ethnic minority community in 'Guang Xi' province of Main Land China, during the ' Tang Dynasty ', that there was a pretty looking peasant girl , who left an everlasting impression among the Chinese population of the region. This girl was nicknamed " Liu San-Jie" ( LSJ), by her... More

Our guide booked tickets for us advising that we sit in 'bamboo seats' which are more expensive and further back but also shields you from the locals in the audience who stand up during the performance and talk throughout. So it was a good call. The venue is outdoors on the river and seats 3500 a performance. So it is... More

We bought cheap tickets off the street that you see people sell in the early evening at west street. Thought this would be a scam. But what it is you see the show from the other side of the river sitting on plastic chairs on someone's private property bit sneaky but it was a cheap way of seeing the show... More

This was a good show choreographed by the man who made Hero and included opera, children singing and dancing, beautiful effects with light and sound but for us it was spoiled by the audience who talked loudly throughout the whole performance. The number of phones that were on also contributed to lessen the impact of the spectacular lighting and scenery.... More

Through Folk songs, beautiful scenery of the Li River and a lights display creates a fairy tale vision. Although it is all in Chinese it is easy to follow the story which is the Culture of the people living in Guilin Worth a visit

I've been to this show twice. It's a beautiful show featuring the surrounding mountains and the river as the stage for the presentation. The costumes are pretty and more than 500 "actors" are involved. I'm told that the real number is over 1,000, but who knows. The show is a must see if you are in Yangshuo for more than... More
