We were offered this show by our guide and so we thought 'why not' we were in Yangshou only for one night. This was the best decision of our whole trip. The show is awesome. Over 600 people make us the cast and I've got to admit I was skeptical but now I can see why and how. It is... More

This show is based on the Beijing Olympics show. We saw it in the rain so maybe not the best but it was quite spectacular. Hundreds of kids and adults, lights, music - worth the effort. On the down side there were crowds of people.

This is a world class son-et-lumiere show based around local people and customs. You will get complete audio and visual overload from the show. Theres no guidance as to the plot line - that doesn't matter, set against the backdrop of the karst mountain scenery, the unfolding spectacle is a constantly changing spectacle with a musical backing to match. The... More

A show of combination of art, design, and high tech that we do not see in the west. It is a learning experience of color, performance, local tradition, and art appreciation. Above my expectation.

Bought the VIP tickets to watch the show for better view. Had a fantastic view of the show and the lake but it had to watch from a far. Lighting were nice and colorful but somehow felt something was still missing. Was expecting a big bang and to have the whole place lighted up with the mountains but it did... More

This is an impressive show, best seen in non-winter months as the mountains will have natural lighting when the show starts. The performers are farmers/workers by day and come together to perform at night! The least expensive tickets might be better though as you'll be closer to the gigantic stage and can see the performers more clearly. But a good... More

Directed by Zhang YiMou itself, indeed not everyone would understand the purpose behind this beautiful show but you have to give it a go at least once if you ever travel to Guilin. Amazing lighting, over 600+ actors and actresses and a good storyline. It is interesting. This show would last for 1hour30mins. It would be cold during the night... More

If you are in town on a clear night, it is definitely worth seeing. The combination of light, colors, people, and landscape are really cool (second best to attending an Olympic opening/closing ceremony but without the athletes. As others mentioned, I would not go out of my way to the see the show but if you are already there, it... More

There is something spectacular in Zhang Yimou's work. He is able to direct hundreds of people in a spectacular piece of work to the backdrop of mountains and create something different from what we are use to . Therefore this show is well worth watching if you are in Yangshuo county and if one had not seen his work before.... More

It was a fantastic visual show. Our seats were not brilliant but we could see the whole spectacle. We support what the other positive reviewers say that it is supporting the local economy and provides employment for more than 600 performers. Wrap up warm though as it us cold in January. Our only sadness was that the people behind us... More
