Ultimately it's a giant example of 差不多 at work. Huge scale, but nobody bothered to actually make it interesting. If you're in Yangshuo with a couple hundred kuai burning a hole in your pocket then it's one of things you sort of should do, but don't travel here expressly to see this performance as its simply not worth it.

it just wasn't that interesting. Very over-sold by brochures and locals. Not much drama and not much of a "light show." A few cool parts but otherwise...boring

Not to be missed. The setting, the costumes, the music...the whole experience was awesome. Directed by the same guy who directed the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the show was wonderful. From memory it was around 1.5hours in length and around $60-70AUD but you'd pay $200 back at home for a similar show. Looking forward to reviewing my... More

Very good show. No big sound and light. Lot of poetry, with mountains in the light behind. Never seen such a beautiful show landscape. To be done in yangshuo.

I booked this show through my hostel (Tripper's Carpe Diem) and my ticket price included transportation. There were two very awesome things about this show: the stage is the Li River, and it is an amazing sight lit up at night; and there are hundreds (I've heard 600) local people that participate in this show. Visually, this is a beautiful... More

We hadn't heard of this show before our hotel mentioned it, but we're really glad we went. For one thing, there isn't that many evening options around Yangshuo so it's a good way to spend an evening. But more importantly, the performance was really impressive. The karst in the background are lit up, and hundreds of performers drift across the... More

You will not be disappointed in the show. Very fun evening. We had a little rain but it did not dampen the show.

We went last night and it was raining quite heavily from 7 to 8.30pm with some lighting n still they did not cancel the show. This is dangerous for both the audience and the actors. The actors wore the puncho while handling the boat, u can imagine how stuffy it is compared to us audience.they have free puncho at entrance... More

The line up area was very busy, just outside the front gates. Looks like chaos but there are some ways the travel agencies work to organize things. You have to go an hour early because of the amount of people. The show itself was not as good as I hoped. Could have used more light work among the surroundings and... More

We thought this was going to be a folklore show aimed at tourists - how wrong we were. The production was brilliant and the natural backdrop of karst hills and the lake were amazing, even more so when lit with the clever use of lighting. Well worth seeing. A tip - take a fan and some insect repellent in the... More
