This temple is not spectacular, but still nice to visit. It's located on a nice square where you can see the remains of an old city gate. Inside the temple there are some square columns that come from an old Indian temple, dating from a time when Quanzhou was an important port. You'll see them, because they look very different... Tianhou temple of Quanzhou was built during the Qing Dynasty in 1196. It is a medium size temple, very clean, well maintained and rich in colour. It has the typical ancient architectures for ancient temples in Fujian province, China. This is a place for worshippers and not many overseas tourists especially western tourists can be seen here.
