Have good boots and allow yourself hours of time to explore and walk both loops. Every view is unique and worth your efforts! It will take some endurance since some of the passes are ver steep and unnerving. I would not attempt it after dark. Fantastic and bucket list place by all means. Sunset must watch place, no good for... More

Finally I got to experience the west sea canyons great views, This being my second trip to HuangsShan as my first was clouded over with 10 meter visibility and almost the whole canyon was closed for maintenance. Anyway for those of you that suffer from slight acrophobia I strongly suggest taking the new cable car to the bottom of the... More

The grand cayon area is definetly a must visit place in Huangshan. Your goal is to reach the Xihai Cable Car (bottom station). We walk from Xihai hotel and it tooks approx 3 hours to reach the bottom station. We make a lot of stop to take pictures and enjoy the view. Please make sure you bring lunch and water.... More

If you come to Huangshan you MUST go to the West Sea. If you do not, you are missing the best bit of the mountain. The remainder of the mountain is spoiled by crowds, noise and tour groups. But as soon as you set off from Cloud Dispelling Pavilion towards the bottom the crowds start to recede. There are still... More

Amazing to walk through, but v scary in places if you don't like heights. Steps are steep, and the walk can be hard on your knees.

This is our first trip to this canyon area. We took the cable cart to the top close to the Pai-Yun-Ting, then took the steep staircase down to the canyon. The steps are new and well constructed. You feel safe though the stairs are steep. Along the way down, there are many surprising good scenery, decorated with the changing colors... More

This was our favorite part of the Huangshan Mountain area and we traversed much of it. Mist and clouds obscured most of it much of the time, but the views must be spectacular and the hiking was magnificent. Worth every step.

As I grow old, I will always remember our 3 nights at Huangshan. Starting from the Taiping cable car (direct access by taxi, no long lines at the cable car, no crowds while hiking, scary yet amazing), we had planned the following route (based upon the excellent online map linked below): 1) Purple Cloud Station - 1st and 2nd ring... treacherous stairs, 4 hours up the scenice route was difficult but the vistas were beautiful sight to see. I suggest stay 2 Nite shere and just enjoy the muntaina top comfortable at Hotel Xhai or Pai Lan YOu hotel. Food was alright. Due to the heavy fog and rain, after our morning walk was coffee break all day at the... More

Best spot to enjoy the pure beauty of Huangshan. Nameless mountains which you can view from different angles. Climbing down on stairs of 70-80 degrees. will take you 1 hour min. to get down to the bottom of the canyon (end of Circle 2). There are spots on the way sticking out from the cliffs. Thrilling and awesome view!
