The Western Sea (Xihai Grand) Canyon is worth a full day alone, not withstanding the cable car that takes you deep in and out of her belly (long, long queues and which isn’t on all maps and is not to be confused with the Taiping Telpher – which provides access to the north entry/exit). Skip the Canyon’s cable and hike... More

It is not a canyon of grand scale, not at all, but it is so beautiful and unique with such views mixed with fog, cloud, rain and snow! Just breathe-takingly beautiful.

This spot has canyons that drop deep and steep. Very nice with the mountains far away in the background with bluish grey shades. Words cannot do justice to the beauty. Just go.

The view on the trail is unbelievable, like better than our Grand Canyon and Yosemite Park add together! Has to be in good shape for the trail, which is narrow and steep!

We did the entire Xihai Canyon - once you ditch the tourists at the cable car, you have the mountain to yourself. It took about 5 hours and was worth every minute. Gorgeous views. Try and get an updated map - the older ones online don't show the new cable car routes, which makes it confusing.

Locking view of mountains was awesome. Beautiful natural design mountains most amazing I have ever seen. Dont forget to see when you are in Huangshan mountain. You view several other points from this point. But our legs has to work out like anything on these mountains. Be fit before coming.

This is a challenging hike--up and down and finally down a lot. The reward is the beautiful scenery. At the bottom there is a cable ropeway to get back up, which was very much appreciated. Then you have to walk back to your hotel The trip took several hours from the North Sea area.

Until I visited Huangshan I thought that the Great Wall was the place in China with most steps! This place is trying to beat the Great Wall. Wonderful place, but be aware of many tourists. We were there during the week, I would never come there during the weekend. If you do not speak Chinese please note that the signs... More
