Fabulous rock formations that change with the light depending upon the time of the day you are viewing them. Most spectacular at sunset

I know North Americans use the term a bit too much, but this place is truly awesome, and awe inspiring. Many like to go here for sunset, which is Novembber is around 1930. The park however stops admitting visitors at 1830. You can stay longer, but cannot enter a full hour before sunset, so don't cut it too close. This... More

Everywhere you look the views are amazing, if you could only attraction in this region it should be here. Be warned that you need to be in good shape to trek to some of the better vantage points and the sun here is relentless. You must come with a least 1 liter of water ( I'd recommend 2 liters, you... This was a challenging hike due to altitude and the last segment to reach the top is not for those who are afraid of heights. The photos are spectacular but don't do it justice. If have the option take a video

We went there the first night we were in San Pedro with Whipala tour company and the trip made me wish we had not booked the other tours already (turned out they were much better though) From as much as we had seen the Valley itself is beautiful and I am guessing it is a hikers paradise. The tour however... More

This was a great afternoon. We paid 9000 Chilean peso which at the time of writing was around £9 and had a brilliant time. Climbing through caves, over rocks, along the desert and finally watching the sunrise. This was a great tour Nd brilliant value in my opinion.

The topography is just amazing, out of this world. A must see. Go before sunset and make sure to stay for the sunset.

The desolation hits you when you consider how close you are to SPA. I was slightly disappointed with the sunset at the end of our trip but overall it is still worth the effort.

definitely a place worth checking out but Atacama is a tourist trap. I would only stay here for at most 2 days then try to keep moving somewhere else

Valley of the moon is a cheap tour but definitely worth it. The landscape of this valley is unlike anything you've seen, comparable to the surface of the moon, so much so that Nasa has done testing there. The sunset at the end of the tour is magical. Don't miss this while in San Pedro!
