We offer tours in different languages (english french and spanish) by guides who are competent in astronomy and who do speak these languages natively. We were told byu the tourist operator 'Sun Travel' Caracoles 179D, that the whole presentation would be in English - strictly speaking this was correct. There was about a 15 minute presentation in English by the son (about 16 years) of the Astronomer presented in Spanish to the bulk of the group. The young man (and his parents) were pleasant... Definitely a worthwhile tour, the Atacama sky becomes that much more incredible thanks to the good folks at Space Star. Our tour-guide was Les, one of the founders of the company. Funny, specific and accessible at the same time, the tour opens a window into the cosmos that will surely amaze the vast majority of us who really do not... More

We loved this tour of the Atacama night sky! Led by very knowledgeable and funny facilitators, we spent about an hour learning about the history of astronomy and then identifying key stars and planets. Afterwards, we looked at a variety of celestial bodies through nine different telescopes. The evening finished up inside with hot chocolate or mate and a Q&A... More

Amazing!!! 20,000 pesos (about $40 aus)... Worth every cent. Les, our Canadian guide was super knowledgable and witty- lots of dad jokes! We learnt so much and his enthusiasm was infectious. We had a wonderfully clear night and saw Saturn, Jupiter, and so many other amazing stars. We found signs of the zodiac and saw countless falling stars. Les also... More

We recently went in the Space Star Tour and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Our tour guide, Alan, a charismatic and funny French astronomer, made for a great tour! The tour was a legitimate English speaking tour, unlike the claims of other agencies we have used, which provide guides who speak no English, at all. Alan provided our group with a... More

We had a fantastic time here, the husband and wife team were extremely knowledgable and knew their specialized subject. Great experience for both amateurs and complete novices. The only thing that could be a tiny bit smoother here, could be the booking process as you reserve in the day and pay in the evening. But i believe its done this... More

This was absoluetly incredible. The lady who took the tour was funny and explained very complex ideas in a very simple way. Then the question and answer section at the end with Ale was amazing. Additionally, he was very patient in helping people take pictures of the sky and so we have a fantastic picture of the Milky Way. The... More

We took the English speaking tour which was led by a Canadian guy. The tour guide was very informative and humorous. You start the the tour by looking at the sky with your naked eye which is very clear in the Atacama desert. The tour guide points out with the help of a laser pointer certain stars, zodiac signs and... More

We were lucky enough to stargaze the night we arrived in San Pedro thanks to a cancellation in the group booking - it was unreal!! Les' enthusiasm is infectious, he's also hilarious so the night was super entertaining as well as in informative, we learnt so much about the stars and galaxies and planets and more importantly SAW them all...
