We started operating in San Pedro in 2003 (ten years ago) and now have the largest public observatory in South America. We offer tours in different languages (english french and spanish) by guides who are competent in astronomy and who do speak these languages natively. If you want to observe through the sky through the largest visual telescopes in South America, and see the marvels of our universe, we are the place.

Our guide, Les, was fantastic, a great source of information on astronomy and a budding comedian. The tour was divided into a naked eye tour of the night sky, a chance to use some high power telescopes and then it finished up with hot chocolate in the house. Superb views of the milky way and a fun way to learn... More

We went with the SPACE tour and it was fantastic. It does get quite cold so bring really warm clothes as you do stand outside for quite some time before the hot drinks! Our guide (a lady, I forget her name) was really informative and passionate about the stars, her talk was extremely interesting. We were then brought around to... More

Must go tour if you are in San Pedro. If you come from English speaking countries, strongly recommend the Canadian Les, he is the best, even though you forgot all your general knowledge of astronomy in high school, you will still enjoy the tour. Reserve the SPACE agency in advance. SPACE seems fairly cheap compared to other agencies, although I... More

The guide is a Canadian and is humorous in leading us walking through the beautiful night sky of the southern hemisphere. There are several "huge" telescopes set up so you can easily find the stars, supernova, zodiacs ...

We did this tour with Space and it was fantastic. I never really had much interest in astronomy but I still found the tour to be really interesting. Our guide a Canadian man named Les was excellent and provided us with interesting information. We then got to look through 9 high tec telescopes, one of which showed Jupiter and its... More

After 3 days of the Salt Flats / Desert tours in Bolivia, we were quite tired of looking at natural beauty -- this was the one thing that absolutely blew us away. One of the best things we did across our 4 weeks in South America. Book in advance, and go with these guys (the original) as the experience is... More

I cannot recommend doing star gazing in San Pedro enough and this is THE company to do it with. We were lucky as when we made our first enquiry, all their tours were booked up a week in advance; however we managed to get a couple of cancellation spots. Bear this in mind if you're only there for a limited... More

The tour is very professional. They've a a very limited number of slots per day so try to make a reservation prior to the arrival in San Pedro. We stayed there for a week and could only book it for the last night. It costs 20,000 pesos. The tour itself is great for knowledge and photography. Amazing sky in Atacama!

I really enjoyed this tour. We didn't book it until the afternoon and were able to go on the 11pm tour. There are about 20 people per tour and everyone gets picked up in the 'downtown' area. You go to the observatory where upon arrival you are greeted by the guide. You stand for about 30 minutes as the guide... More

I attended this stargazing "tour" in mid-November 2014. I had an excellent experience and I highly recommend this activity to others. The tour lasted about 2.5 hours. My group was picked up near the San Pedro Space office at midnight and we drove for about 10 minutes until we reached our destination. We were met by Les, our entertaining and... More
