We booked this trip some months in advance. We were advised to come into the office on the day of the tour to check if the weather would be ok for that evening and if so pay. We were very fortunate as the previous few days they had to cancel the tours as the sky had been cloudy. The meeting... More

The tour was awesome- I learned so much about the stars and the various constellations. The guide was excellent and funny, and I loved his laser pointer! The best part for me was seeing Jupiter through the telescope. I will remember that image forever! The 2nd best part was seeing the shooting starts and looking at the satellites moving across... Consider it as a quick introduction for astronomy. The tour is divided in 3 parts: 1) 1 hour: a bit of theory such as speed of light, distance, ages, star formation. The astromer points a special green laser to identify and show the stars; 2) 1 hour: telescope observation. in this part, the astronomer sets the telescopes in interesting positions... More

Great evening under the stars. Excellent talk on the history of astronomy, and lots of large telescopes to directly view objects in the night sky. A 15 minute bus ride away from the city lights of San Pedro, far from the city lights. More

We had no idea of how the night sky is beautiful. The astronomical tour is overseen by a Canadian astronomer who lives in the Atacama. There are several telescopes pointed at the moon, constellations and planets. It is very beautiful, but cold. At the end is served hot chocolate More

We visited the Space tour and had a Canadian guide, who was very informative, engaging, helpful and entertaining. Firstly we had an explanation on the beginnings of astronomy and the various constellations in view, done in such a way that I think I will remember them easily in future. We then got to focus the telescopes on many interesting objects,... More

I highly recommend this - the English tour was fantastic. The owner is so knowledgable and a laugh a minute. Never had a more enjoyable science tour. The time flies and yet you see and learn so much. In the desert the stars are amazing and with the right guide, who exists here, its an experience you'll always remember. Very... More

There is nothing bad to say about this tour. The setting was unique and interesting, the lecture and tour well organized. The host was not only gracious and hospitable, but hilarious as well. The tour would be interesting to those completely interested in astronomy but also for those (like me) who just wanted to try something new. Truly a unique... More

The tour is great if you're into astronomy or science. The only drawback is that it is a little crowded. With the small number os telescopes, there's not much time to watch during the lecture. You can use the telescopes at the end, but sometimes you've already forgotten what was on each telescope. Besides that, after a while, what was... More

I have to second, third, and fourth all the positive comments about SpaceObs. I was just there in the desert and even though there had been a full moon only days earlier we were still able to book a tour and loved every minute of it. It is really important to make a reservation via email as it seems these... More
