We were on a Princess cruise to the Black Sea in November of 2013. As part of the cruise we landed in Nessebar, Bulgaria and took an excursion to Varna for the day. Our tour guide was Hristina Nedelcheva. From the beginning of the tour we knew Hristina was going to be a great guide. She speaks English very well... More

Visiting out of season, it was easy to walk around this much restored old town. There are many ancient and interesting churches and the restoration of houses using Bulgarian Revival Architecture gives the place a special character. However, inevitably to plethora of souvenir shops make the town less than historically authentic! When last here in c. 1970 there were 30... More

This small village is full of memorials and steeped in history. The fishing habour resturatns serve really great food and waiters are more friendly and relaxed than the ones in the bustling Sunny Beach centre. The atmosphere in Nessebar is more relaxed which is a welcomed treat after being rushed and pushed around in main resort.

We took a private tour while we stopped in Burgas as part of a Black Sea cruise last October . Included in the tour was the visit of Old Nessabar which proved to be not only the highlight of the day but also of the whole Black Sea cruise . Visiting Old Nessebar is like stepping back in time !... More

I highly recommend to anybody to visit Nessebar at least once in their lives. It is a lovely small place, but with such a big history, true romance, old legends and unforgettable memories..A midnight walk down the little streets, covered with cobbles.A glass of fine wine by the beach, accompanied by the amazing Bulgarian music, which flies as if through... Old Nesebar is a great place to vist and explore..only had half a day, but got around most of the sights. Had some food down by the sea..good value for money and food was good. Good shopping area for Souvys and generally looking at the old houses and relaxing....would like to go back and stay there.
