Old wooden houses. Plenty of souvenir shops of all the kinds. A lot of non-expensive restaurants with tasty fresh food. Excellent views to the sea. Enjoy the sunsets in this fairy tale place.

there were a few museums to visit - buy you ticket for ALL at the first and you get a great deal. Lots of shops and cafes to keep you busy for hours. A lovely place to spend a few hours

I was there in October, tail end of the tourism season, when things return to normal. The history of this place is amazing, as witnessed by numerous ruins, artifacts, etc., etc. In my case the draw was the parts of old Nesebar that disappeared into the sea as a result of several earthquakes in antiquity. I am involved in preparing... More

We spent one day in Nessebar as part of a Black Sea cruise. I'm so glad I chose Tschinar Holidays to take a private tour of Nessebar and surrounding villages. The fishing village of Nessebar was charming and full of history. The churches were beautiful and different in design. The streets are very cobbled and uneven, so comfortable shoes are... More

Nessebar is a superb small town full of history. Lovely churches, shops and cafés . A wonderful place to stroll around at leisure. Plenty of places to sit by the sea and take in the atmosphere on your way into the old town. The streets all lead into each other so no getting lost but they are all cobbled so... More

Old Nessebar was my favourite place but now, I really don't like it. Why? Because of all these stands and shops full of articles. You can't see the architecture, you can't feel the atmosphere.... Yes, you can buy shoes or a jacket! Is the business more important than the history? I wanted to show Nessebar to my child. What did... More

Located on a linked island on the Black Sea, this tourist-aware village offers a view of the past. Cobbled streets, stone walls, tiled roofs, and picturesque views. Wine, beer and food are cheap.

We docked at Burgas on a Black Sea cruise and caught one of the regular local buses up to Nessebar (45 minutes away). This is a picturesque old village, with loads of churchesin varying stages of ruin. Nice to stroll around, but the tourist-tat shops detract from the ambience of the village.

We stopped at Burgas during our Black Sea cruise and took the Nessebar tour which was a bus trip and a guided tour of the buildings and explanation of the local history. The old church with the restored wooden interior was especially interesting, it is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the more opulent cathedrals one usually sees... More

We have stayed in Nessebar many times, and the Old Town is always a great place for an evening stroll (or a several-hour visit, if you are on a one-time excursion). It's definitely worth a visit. It is still a very touristy place though, with all the respective consequences. Restaurants are cheaper (and often better) in the new town.
