Nice but crowded

It's a very nice old town. It's a little crowded in summer, but you need to see it once. I will recommend a walk on narrow streets.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a fly/drive holiday in Bulgaria and we wanted to include a three day stay at somewhere on the Black Sea coast. We were warned not to go to Varna as, we were told, "It's a bit Blackpoolish!" We were informed by someone who had previously been to Bulgaria that they had heard Nessebar, "was... More

There are lots of quality restaurants and the food is amazing and very cheap. Whilst they all ply for your custom they are polite and courteous, if you say no. There are many souvenir and clothes shops, and you can spend many hours browsing the narrow streets and alleys. The old ruins and churches are amazing.

Well deserved as a UNESCO World Heritage site, great atmosphere with all the little shops, where you can buy almost anything. Don't be put off by some of the traders pestering you to buy, its all part of the experience.

Lovely old island, no wonder it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lots to see including old ruins, churches, houses, and just the general atmosphere of the place was interesting. Also tons of little shops for those who like to buy souvenirs and such. Basically it has something for everyone. But make sure you wear comfy walking shoes!

Lovely restaurants and shops. Great views from some restaurants and also cheap. Beautiful when lit up at night time.

This part of Bulgaria is absolutely beautiful with some really quirky bits to buy in Nessebar. Michael's Eco Bar is amazing and a little shop on the way to Michael's Eco Bar where you can see a gentlemen sat outside his own shop craving alsorts out of wood like clocks, books, wall pieces, jewellery, etc. The many thing that let... Worth to visit if you are into old places . Traditional houses renovated a little too much and lost some of the original look.

The very old place (about 500 b.c.). Nowadays there are a lot of restorants, cafes, shops with souvenirs and old buidings. Narrow streets. Great view to the sea.

that part of Bulgaria is boring, by and large, cannot say about Sofia, haven't been there yet, but the part between Varna and Burgas is just a waste of time. Dirty, poorly maintained, nothing to do, Soviet style poor service. Old Nessebar is small, you can get around all of it in less than an hour, nothing to do except... More
