* If you're going to Xingo, don't miss the nearby town of Piranhas, UNESCO heritage listed, stunning views and you can swim in the river there, too. It takes 3 h to get here from Aracaju. Then 1 h on the boat to arrive at the swimming enclosure, then 1 h there, followed by 1 h to return. So you're... More

If you go to Aracaju you can't not miss this tour. The views are amazing! You also can enjoy swimming in one of the most important rivers of Brazil, the São Francisco river.

Don't expect breathtaking views: this canyons is quite modest. The trip from Aracaju takes about five hours by bus then you spend about an hour in a boat before you can spend one hour in the pools. The trip is too long and uncomfortable to be worth it, but do try it if you like rough trips.

This trip was well worthwhile as we stayed in Piranhas two nights. The river trip was well organized, comfortable seating, good hot snacks on board the catarmaran. The scenery is beautiful. All swimming is in a controlled floating dock. We had lunch at the end of the trip at the restaurant at the terminal, and enjoyed the tillapia fillets. Great... More

Beatiful landscapes while sailing through the São Francisco river. Canyon is a wonderful place but it is only part of the overall beauty of the region. This is a lovely trip but if you make it as a one-day trip from Aracaju it may be get tiresome. Keep in mind it is a long trip (3-4 hours) from Aracaju. Best... More

Even though the river is beautiful and the swimming very enjoyable, Xingo is too far from Aracaju. That means you have to spend 3 hous to go and 3 more to return. The only restaurant is pricy and the food is not so good. Plan it carefully otherwise you will be disappointed.

It took us 4 long and tired hours from Aracaju to the catamaran. The boat took one hour to the red rocks canyon. One hour stop over in the river to take shower and another hour to return. The scenery is OK but the whole trip we were blasted with the poor loud and noisy north eastern music. It is... More
