The building is very nice as expected for the main theatre in the city, worth visiting and taking pictures... Such a pity the area is so dodgy with lots of homeless people sleeping on the street, not to mention the intimidating men trying to sell something (i guess). Still a good experience... Try to avoid going on your own!

It is a great place for those who love classical music or those who just want to visit São Paulo's downtown.

The old Municipal Theatre takes its architectural inspiration the great European opera houses, is the cultural heart of the city, the place where the São Paulo has great affection. After the vast reforming a few years ago, returned to its dignity. Enjoy a concert, opera or ballet that has intense schedule. Tickets for sale online or at the theater.

The centenary theatre, our opera and concert house, was renewed in the last years. But the great news are the new direction, under maestro´s John Neshling direction, with an annual schedule of opera staging, with great directors, soloists, our amazing orchestra and choir. I'm very proud and don't miss any opera! And the fee is very low!

I went on the 2:00 pm tour of the opera house and it was wonderful. (This one is in Portuguese). The guide was very nice and in addition to the opera house also took us to the Praça das Artes. The tour is free and you just have to show up and sign in ahead of time. The tour of... More

Very colorful, lot of activity, great variety of fruit juices and awesome food. Must try the famous local food - Sanduiche de mortadela and Pastel de bacalhau. Must eat! Worth checking out without a doubt, plan for an afternoon or an evening.

Definitely one of the most charming places in Sao Paulo, everything reminds you of the good old luxury and this luxury continues with its programming, exhibiting only refined performances. It is located in downtown, so is easy to get there, but its surroundings are not exactly safe.
