I liked the building that the museum was housed in. The architecture blends with the exhibitions. I saw an exhibition of Brazilian art from the Colonial area to 1920. It was organized chronologically and gave a lot of information about the artistic movements of each era and the training of artists. They also have an audio guide but I didn't... More

Ok experience. The neighbourhood is so-so and although I did not mind my friend (small asian girl) wasn't too comfortable. The museum is nice although definitely not a first-class world museum. It was quiet when we went with no guide nor instruction so we strolled about without much of sense of what we were discovering. Collection is uneven and so... More

Most of all I liked the building where it's located. It looks big from the outside but inside only 1 of 3 floors was fully used for expositions. The other two in 25-50%. Many nice sculptures. Paintings didn't take my breath away. Very cheap admission though (6 Reals ~USD 2.5).

The Pinacoteca is a great place. There was a lot of beautiful pieces, statues and old civilizations objects. You can't miss the Portuguese Language Museum, in front of Pinacoteca and Estação da Luz (Station of Light).

I visit this place very often due to the excellent temporary exhibitions. The permanent collection is worth seeing to, especially the Rodins.

This is a great place to visit if you are one of those travelers that really want to know everything about the contries you go to. At Pinacoteca you will experience Brazilian culture, art, and language in just a short visit. The metro will take you directly to this spot. Make sure you visit the museum about the Brazilian dictatorship... More

This museum has collection of modern art and classic art pieces. Personally, I prefer the classic art pieces at the 3rd level of the museum. But didn't have enough time to slowly view and complete the whole level due to tight schedule. If I were ever to visit Sao Paulo again, I will ensure I have ample time for this... More

what I loved most about this gallery/museum was that it is situated in the older side of town and in a area where it is kind of dirty. But this gallery gave me a fresh view on the Luz area because it is so different. Firstly the architecture is simplistic yet sophisticated and the art that is exhibited is diffrent,... More
