Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures. « less

We had food at two different places in the park, rented bikes for two hours, took in the locals playing sports or on bikes and skateboards and visited a world class art museum. This park has plenty to offer and gives a real genuine Sao Paulo experience. It is a must do.

The park is huge yet it is heavily used on weekends which lends to a festive atmosphere. I rent a bike at a kiosk on the street and ride through the park on the established bike paths. On a Sunday, you will see serious pick up soccer games, volley ball with referees, bicycle polo, lots of picnicking, photography, children playing,... More

Parks are nit that green in Brazil as they are in Europe or North America, but this is anyway a very nice park with a lot of interesting people and activities going on on the weekends.

People from São Paulo spend part of the weekends in the Ibirapuera Park. It´s a excelente place to see how they live and how they spend their free time. The go jogging, they take the kids, they go for a walk, they go with their entire families just for a walk or for a pic-nic. If you want to understand... More
