The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Great park for walking biking running. If you have time take a picnic lunch. Museum of Modern Art in the park is minimal - what's there is good just not much. I felt no security concern walking during the daytime.

A nice park in a military zone? The park has an amazing museum and is well patronised by the locals. It was good to walk through and enjoy the sights.

What a wonderful park. If you are a runner or walker and enjoy getting out early in the AM, than this is the place to go. Hundreds of runners, both solo and groups utilize the park each morning. Many clean bathrooms, trails are wide and clear of debris and trip hazards. Walkers, runners, young, old, it does not matter, all... More

I like to visit markets and parks to see what the local people do. In ibirapuera park, especially on weekend, you can see what they do in Sao Paulo. A lot of people are running, playing, and resting with their family, and friends. I did not visit Museums in the park, but you may do it. Great place.

This lovely park is centrally located, a perfect place for a weekday stroll or to visit its museums but over the weekends you can find lots of locals walking, skating, running, etc. There bicycles for rental for $5 reais and hour, the bikes are in good condition and you can easily do the whole park in about 2 hours.
