The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

At the Ibirapuera Park you can delight the environment by wlaking or jogging , sometimes public shows and exposition. At the end of the all years, from the 20,november you can see the dance of the water, a color and eletronic show of pumping waters of the lake!

My kids liked to go and play on the jungle gym, watch the skate borders under the covered pavilion and buy bubble blowers. The earlier in the day the better. Sometimes I even get to sneak into the very excellent Afro Brazil Museum.

So huge, best to hire bikes and go early on a Sunday. There's lots to see and it really is a lovely day out. As well as sports facilities, there are a few museums too.

A good place to stay in contact with nature in São Paulo. Beautiful and clean, is a perfect park to go for a walk and relax.

It's incredible how can we find such a nice green place in a big city like São Paulo! There's plenty of places for bikers, skaters and runners to do their rolls. The scenario at Ibirapuera is singular, surely a São Paulo's postcard.

It is a good place to stay, do some exercises and visit museum that are inside. In special times like city birthday (January, 25) and Christmas the fountain inside the park are lited up.

On any given day the activity is intense there, at sunrise to the end of the night. There could be more security and more respect by some citizens - especially on weekends, but the mood is peaceful and friendly among all who are there to practice sports it's park main attribute) or simply to enjoy the green area. It's relaxing... More
