Owner description: The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Beautiful park - very similar to Central or Hyde Parks. Great place to stroll around for a few hours and take in Paulista's in their own environment. There are two museums/exhibit spaces that great to hop into while walking around the park.

Likened to New Yorks Central Park, Ibirapuera has many interesting venues. While some are often closed, probably due to budget issues, the park itselfis replete with sculptures, buildings by noted architects, flowering trees, and a pretty lake. Just outside the park is a massive statute honoring the Bandeirantes, pioneers that settled Sao Paulo. Very worth an unhurried visit.

Full of activities on the weekend e.g., families and friends walking, jogging, rollerskating, rollerboarding, picnicking, etc. Offers a beautiful fountain with changing water displays.

I think Ibirapuera park is the only going around place except Paulista street. If you want to escape a little bit slience from the crowded city, you can go to this park. For security in my opinion, evening time not suitable. While walking in the park be careful about bicycles, because they don't use the bicycle road. Sao Paulo'da Paolista... More

Sunday afternoons are an international classic; think of NYC central park combined with Bei Hai (Temple of Heaven) in Beijing... then mix in some South Beach happiness, and bingo you have Ibirapuera. Watch out for the skateboarders who get very enthusiastic.

This park is in the middle of a bustling area of Sao Paulo. It is a mixture of tranquil gardens and walks, lakes and sporting activities where the locals play soccer and basketball. From the local hotels, it is a short walk, and well worth the visit.

A very nice park. One of the best outdoor places to go while in Sao Paulo. Very good for exercising and to wander with friends and family.
