Located in a Victorian-era structure reminiscent of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Catavento Cultural is chock-full of interactive, hands-on exhibits and educational activities for children. Subjects covered include space, wildlife, geography, the human body and society. They are presented in action-filled, engaging fashion for the little ones. The surrounding neighborhood can be a bit sketchy, so taking a cab is recommended.

Perfect for young children. Give them the chance to explore the myths of science interactively, challenging the laws of physics, electricity, magnets, fluids and so on. Prices are very low considering a São Paulo attraction (parking & entrance).

The museum is very nice. More or less in the old town (nearby the Mercado Municipal). It is more or less (careful with the comparison) like the Deutsches Museum (Munich). The Catavento has a lot of things related to sciences where you can do your experiments "using" the equipments.

You may face crowded days if you meet some school visiting the place in the same time. Very good place for kids, interesting tour. the equipment and devices are great and it would be helpful having more guides in number and in english speaking as well. Perfect for taking kids in days off in SP

Lots of things to visit and movable exhibitions. Of course, not all the rooms would be interesting to little kids, but you definitely will have a good time walking. Free on saturdays

It's a discovery museum. You can interact with tons of things... from learning about the solar system, to bugs, to our digestive system, to our ancestors. My two daughters loved it and BEGGGGG to go back all the time. Highly recommended for kids.

The best place to go with young children. Lot of fun for adults as well. Good snack bar to quick lunch. Close to the São Paulo market. European standard museum!

We went on a Saturday morning. Earlier is better as it gets really crowded. There is also a cool store that sells "toys" that are actually science project such as periscopes etc. The area outside is also nice as it is fenced and kids can run around. Within walking distance is the main municipal market for pork sandwiches and cold... More

We loved the fact that this is an interactive science museum for children. The monitors are great at teaching the concepts of the various exhibits......some exhibits needed repair.

This is a worthwhile science museum in Sao Paulo, both because its good permanent exhibitions and because of its extra activities (which need to be booked in the morning on the day of your visit, otherwise you probably won't find places). The museum is also very inexpensive. And, you may combine your museum visit with shopping and lunch at the... More
