The surf here is usually good for beginners, the water is calm. It has a little town that offers a few places to eat but we preferred Lagoa Conceicao. Also, the beach wasn't anywhere near as clean and the beaches to the south of the island. Wouldn't bother visiting here again.

A great family beach, with a good infrastructure, and calm sea. But don't eat in those restaurants, they are overpriced!!!

Barra da Lagoa is the perfect choice for those looking for a quiet yet adorable place. The town is compact still offering dinning options, supermarkets (some of which accept credit cards) and buffet places (either to go or to dine in) by kilo (fixed price by kilo, so pick your meal and final price will be based on tge weight... Really nice place to just chill out and enjoy the small town and large beach. Lots of places to stay and restaurants. There is a surf school at the beach and plenty to see and do in the area. recommend you cross the blue bridge over the canal and turn left to find a smaller less crowded beach.

I went to Barra for a week holiday in July while I was working in Brazil and it was definitely a highlight! If you have the chance to go, I would highly recommend it. The scenary, food, beaches, crowds, surfing and atmosphere was very memorable. I was in Brazil for 6 months and most of my best stories/memories are from... More

This beach is a short car or bus ride from Lagoa da Conceição. Famous for its restaurants and beers at the beachfront, you can sit, drink and eat the whole day with a very nice service. Caipirinhas, beers, snacks and dishes (mainly seafood and fish). You can come with friends, family or partner.

And a good place to see and be seen. Just another of the more than 40 beaches that pepper this island in southern Brazil

a nice small place at a long bay, It's good for surfing and stand up paddling. Not much to do there and very touristic. There are a lot of cheap appartments for rent. It's always possible to beat the price. The restaurants at the beach are expensive and if you beat the price there you can get a good meal... More

We visited this beach twice. It was great both days. One day we took surf lessons from Ernesto. He's super awesome. There are lots of little food stands, but the best restaurant was on the corner by the parking lot. OMG, the food was awesome. There are bathroom facilities in the restaurants and a public restroom by the parking lot.... More
